don't sweat not having a prom ... my junior year my bf at the time stayed up till 4am the night b4 and fell asleep on the dance floor.  My senior yr I went with a friend and he ended up ditching me to make out w/ someone else the whole night. it's really not all it's cracked up to be. wearing the fancy dress is fun though.
283  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Any techniques to ruin your jeans! on: August 30, 2005 10:00:38 PM
when I was in 3rd grade (which was eons ago back in the 80s), I wanted cool jeans so my mom dumped a load of bleach in the washer.  it makes 'em look like they encountered a bleach bubble storm!  not really a destructive technique, but def. a cool and unexpected result.  as for destruction -- you can't go wrong w/ cut and wash for the frayed look.  if you have a hand-held sander(for sanding wood), that would give you some quickie worn-spots.  haven't you seen that Levi's commercial where the guy replicates his favorite jeans for his girlfriend?  good pointers in that 2 min clip!

I love love LOVE sunflowers and the last switchplate cover you made.  Can I possibly get that image from you?  or where can I find it?

could you not also make a lamp?  I've seen them made out of craft sticks, wouldn't the magazine rolls work just as well?

just an idea.  awesome usage of old mags.  gotta try 'em!
