1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: portraits (embroidered pieces of felt) on: May 27, 2007 09:03:57 AM
i made drawings of what i wanted to do and made my own template from the drawing i did. some of the shapes, etc. were just a lucky guess.

well, they are each in 8 x 10 inch frames, except for jack. he's not really done yet. he needs his wrinkles worked out and some more embroidery. after that he will have a frame as well. i can't really sell jack and sally because they are not original designs. they will be a gift for somebody (unless some person would like to *donate*). the rest i plan on selling or giving away. haven't decided. i just had all of this felt just sitting in craft bins and figured that i'd put them to good use. i had seen some of the things other people have done with felt, and since i like to embroider, i figured they'd go good together. l will more than likely sell some of the completed works at craft fairs with my other stuff...when i actually get around to it.

a lot of stuff that is trendy these days is 80's inspired. the 80's have been coming back for a few years now. at first i was SO against it...but there are some styles that are actually cute. i just hope the neon and hyper-color (gag) shirts stay out.
