I made that for a personal swap. The pattern was my own.
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Alternative/subversive crochet books? on: August 26, 2007 07:01:35 PM
Are there any alternative/subversive crochet pattern books out there? I've seen some knit ones ("Pretty in Punk", "Domiknitrix" etc) but no crochet ones! Do those books exist?

Even links to patterns online (free or otherwise) would be appreciated too.
13  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Was Elisabeth Doherty's amigurumi book released yet? on: August 25, 2007 08:56:01 PM
Was Elisabeth Doherty's book "Amigurumi!: Super Happy Crochet Cute" book released yet? I saw this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Amigurumi-Crochet-Patterns-Book-Miniature-Mouse-Doll_W0QQitemZ150154822570QQihZ005QQcategoryZ41232QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Did someone sneak out a copy of the book or something?

EDIT: Since I found out about the listing, there are already 4 bids on it. Wow.
14  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Is $10 fair for crocheted baby booties? on: August 16, 2007 08:20:04 PM
I started to crochet some baby booties that resemble cowboy boots for a craft show in a few months. My friend's mom offered me some space on her table and I'm going to take advantage of that. I told her that I was going to charge $10 per pair. She wants me to lower the price to under $10 but I'm hesitant. I'm not in this to make money but I think that anything less than that would not be worth my time. Would you say $10 is fair for a pair of crocheted baby booties?
15  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / Boutiques in NYC that sell handmade goods? on: August 13, 2007 07:59:51 PM
I'm going to NYC in a few days. I actually have my own money to spend this time and handmade goods I want to spend it on! Anyone know of any boutiques (particularly anything in greenwich village-I need a reason to go there Grin ) that sell handmade goods? I'm not talking about fine art, something...other than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Addresses to the place would be fantastic also.
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting rectangle with a slit in the middle? on: August 06, 2007 08:21:30 PM
Here's what I need help with: SIDES AND TOP
Both lateral sides and top are knit in one piece, partially slit in the centre to accomodate the zipper.

Cast on 12 stitches in brown wool. Work in stockinette stitch until it is 31 cm long.

Then knit across half the stitches and stop in the middle of a row. Resume knitting the other half with another strand from another skein. For 48 cm knit half the stitches with one strand and half with another.

Am I supposed to knit both pieces of the slit at once or knit one side and once that's finished knit the other side?
17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Nintendo Perler Bead Pixel Magnets on: August 02, 2007 10:12:09 AM
I made these from a perler bead set I got from Christmas. Though they were sometimes tedious to put on the pegboard, it was fun nonetheless.

From top left: radish from some Super Mario bros. game, Fire Flower, block from Super Mario bros., cloud from Super Mario bros., Bullet Bill and Bob-bomb.

Attached on the backs are magnets from the dollar store.

18  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted hamburger coaster set on: July 31, 2007 11:36:01 AM
Fresh off the hook, 5 minutes ago  Grin This very simple project was from a Japanese crochet book called Knit Room. I made a few adjustments to it to fit my taste. Hopefully, I'm going to send this off to Ellen Degeneres soon.

Hope you like.
19  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Bunny bag...Dunno what to call it... on: July 24, 2007 11:12:27 AM

Looks like a regular bunny amigurumi doll, right? Wrong.

It opens up in the back to fit some cash, my driver's license and some other knick knacks. It was inspired by a blog post I saw before and my own imagination. I made it up as I went and scribbled down some notes too. Thoughts?
20  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Eco Bag on: July 19, 2007 07:03:46 AM

Just a little bag I made yesterday. It took me about 6 episodes of Simpsons (22 mins. each) to complete it. I got the pattern from the 2007 Crochet A Day calendar, but if anyone wants the pattern I think I can type it up and post it. Less plastic bags used, the better. Cheesy
