So, it all started with this heinous pair of Levis my boyfriend has had since high school (over 10 years). Long story short, they had a huge whole in the crotch and knees and I thought they were at the end of their tenure as jeans. Needless to say I was more than thrilled when this craft challenge came up and he was willing to part with the jeans for such a cool challenge (and it kept me quiet through football on Sunday).
I wanted to make an asymmetrical denim jacket with a triangular flap on the front. I did use an old shirt pattern I had lying around to get the sleeves & shoulders right, the rest I just winged...hence the pieced on look. It turned out pretty cute, but the front flap isn't exactly how i wanted it. But I like the fact that it isn't normal looking!
I was stoked that I used all but a few tiny pieces of the denim. The other cool feature (because we live in Alaska) it's lined it with hot pink fleece.
This is my first posting...hope the photos aren't too big, can't be viewed, etc...

Yes, the pocket has no use on the back, but I couldn't make it normal!!
