Well, I finished. I am not happy with it. It was a lot of work and it is a poor fit, although at least it fits. I think it is the shape. It is very bunchy in some places. If I were to knit it over again (which I am not), I would not do the reverse stockinette, too messy looking. I can see all of the decrease/increase spots. Perhaps that is my lack of knitting skill. I also would knit one size smaller. I want to frog it but I have no idea what to knit with the yarn ( which is knitpick sierra in cranberry color.) It was a learning experience. I did my first cables on this project, which came out great. This was also my first time successfully picking up stitches.
I had the same problem, Shan. I finished this the other night and I've already started to frog it for all the same reasons you want to. I really think this sweater is meant for smaller girls (I'm tall and kind of busty). Or this might be better in worsted weight yarn or smaller. That might help get rid of the bulk. I agree that this was a learning experience. Oh well, onto to the Dayflower Scarf. Here's a picture, though. I hope others have better luck.
