1  Floral Lace Anklets from Lace Style {sort of img heavy} in Knitting: Completed Projects by Knit_Dork24 on: November 09, 2007 04:43:16 PM
Christmas Knit #1 complete! (2 more to go)

These are for my SIL. I'm actually posting here first instead of my blog because I'm pretty sure she lurks there. I like to try and keep x-mas presents of surprise.

Sorry the pictures aren't better, I live in one of those places where the sun goes away in the winter.

(like my last minute sock blocker?  Grin)

The yarn is Knitpicks Essentials in "Burgundy" (her favorite color) and I think the lace pattern does quite well in this color. If the sock looks kind of big, it is. I had to size it up to fit a women's size 12W. After some trial and error I ended up increasing one needle size to US 2 and adding another 6 sts (enough for one more lace repeat). They fit my husband's feet well so I'm confident they'll fit hers. They have a good bit of stretch to them, too.

The lace pattern was very easy and doesn't take long to memorize. They knit up pretty quickly for me.

Almost a shame I have to give them away  Wink

Thanks for looking!

I got my package from ollieorange and WOW, I'm very impressed. Here's the run down:

Two painted dishes for my tea bags.  A set of tea themed stitch markers. BTW, she went with an Asian theme for this package.

Close up of the stitchmarkers. I adore these. She said she made the charms from shrinky dinks.

A tea canister with the "kenji" character. Kenji = tea! And crap load of teas including a bag of loose leaf, which is new to me.

And last but not least. Chammomile soap, Tea Tree Rosemary lotion, scone recipes with extra Asian themed cards, AND a muslin tea bag.

HO. LY. CRAP! You couldn't ask for a better swap package! I love everything. THANK YOU SO MUCH OLLIORANGE!!

4  Restless Sat. Night + Leftover Sock Yarn = Headband I'll Probably Never Wear in Knitting: Completed Projects by Knit_Dork24 on: June 24, 2007 06:34:14 PM
Don't get me wrong I think it's pretty cute, but I guess I'm not a headband person. I was restless and wanted to get rid of some leftover sock yarn. The yarn is Knitpicks Dancing and I used size 1 needles plus this super easy lace pattern:

RS and WS Rows: k1, *YO, p2tog* repeat to last st, k1

That's it!

More pics and details on the blog. Thanks for looking.  Cheesy

6  SmockTop Sundress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Knit_Dork24 on: July 25, 2006 04:16:12 AM
Hello, all! As you can probably tell by my screen name my "thing" is mostly knitting. But I was in need of some summer skirts/dresses a while ago and I got mad because Old Navy wanted $25 for some simple panel skirt made from damn-near-sheer material.  Angry Please. So I went to the fabric store and found this awesome fabric that's perfect for a sundress.

I was inspired by Robotsrock Smocktop (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=18063.0) so I went for it and actually sewed something from my own pattern.  Grin

The fabric is very light and silky. Perfect for the summer heat.

Sorry to have to link you. I tried to display the images, but they didn't want to show up.

And on me. It's a little more flattering in person. Trust me.

Comments welcome! Thanks for looking  Cheesy

Yes! Got my package from Starlawill just now! She made a cool "Brute Squad" patch and a handpainted Miracle Max Miracle Pill Box (CUTE), and an awesome fabric album with scenes and quotes from the movie. This description doesn't do it justice just see for yourself:

Very impressive! The album is plush and VERY detailed. Even the pictures are fabric! I can't imagine how long this took. Thanks Starlawill for such awesome Princess Bride crafts!

9  Re: What are you listening to whilst crafting CD Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Knit_Dork24 on: March 11, 2006 05:52:44 AM
That case cover is awesome! I've always wanted to try that illusion stuff.

I received my package from Lucy Van Pelt on Wednesday!

It's a flower pin and the pin-up girl pic is the cover of the card she sent with it. I dig the CD insert too. I sent hers out yesterday. Godspeed, little package! I always seem to wait to the last minute. The music mix is awesome. Mellow enough for my crafty moods, or pretty much any mood since I normally swing towards the mellower beats.  Grin

Here's the tracklist:

1. "take me" 3kstatic featuring louise fraser
2. "love is the drug" roxy music -this song is very infectious
3. "another one bites the dust" queen gotta love a good classic
4. "hope of deliverance"- paul mcartney another one that's stuck in my head
5. "airwaves"-thomas dolby
6. "gravity never failed"- omd
7. "the way you like it"-hook the captain
8. "no new tale to tell"-love & rockets
9. "silver screen shower scene"- felix da housecat
10. "end of the reel"- 3kstatic
11. "in your eyes"- peter gabriel
12. "secret oktober"- duran duran
13 "a way"- the bolshoi
14. "chains of love"- erasure one we all know and love... at least I do
15. "no reply at all"- genesis
16. "six underground"- sneaker pimps
17. "extraordinary machine"- fiona apple she's one of my all time favorites

Love it all! Thanks, lucy!

10  Rapunzel Socks from D-Made in Knitting: Completed Projects by Knit_Dork24 on: February 28, 2006 11:24:00 AM
These were a gift-knit for my Mom. They're made out of LB Wool-Ease worsted I got on discount for $1.50. The color I chose doesn't do the sock's design justice, but I think they look pretty good anyways.  Grin

The pattern is by D-Made (http://d-made.blogspot.com) which she posted on Craftster a little while ago. I also made the Traveler Sock which you can also find on her website!

They're knit from the toe-up using the magic loop method. I <3 Socks! More details on my blog, of course. Thanks for looking.  Kiss
