So i was having a housewarming where our them was bio-diversity: Fin fur feathers or flesh....and with all the hulla-ba-loo in organising with few hours to go i realised i forgot about a costume.  So while my housemates got the sausages and beer, i headed to lincraft where in the remanents bin i found 1m of orange satin and grabbed some co-ordinating tulle and ribbon, raced home and got to work and ended up with this:

14  Batman's a scientist Table in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by fromvenuswithlove on: January 11, 2007 06:55:07 PM
Inspired by the comic coffee book tables around these parts i thought id try my own for my BF's xmas pressent

Just have a question - i used modge podge (gloss) and did about 5 coats to seal it, anyhow the table then sat in my garage for 2weeks while we went home for xmas, last night when i took it to my bf's place there were heaps of air bubbles (there was a few but now theres heaps more and in one spot robin has aged greatly!) and it seems as if some of the pictures have shrunk as now there are gaps Sad im thinking it must have been the odd weather we've being having (lots of exteremes of temp - damn global warming!) - does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it

17  Butterick 6582 Retro Butterick '60 in Sewing Pattern Reviews by fromvenuswithlove on: August 24, 2006 02:18:49 AM
easy peasy pattern, and i survived it with my first try with real silk,  i screwed up the zipper a little (only cos i was trying to be clever! and it was more the fact that i learnt that silk doesnt like it when you unpick stuff)
Neckline is a little higher than i thought and its a bit long (next time id shorten cos it makes my legs look like stumps)

so heres the finished product, sadly i forgot to pose properly and alas its in my huge pile to go to the drycleaners so here we go......

20  pin/needle marks in silk - eeeep! help! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by fromvenuswithlove on: July 12, 2006 09:48:11 PM
well ive never worked with silk before, but there i was thinking id be cleaver and make a pretty dress in 100% silk (it was in the reminants bin and thats all that was left of the tag) that i think may be duponi, anyhow, all was going well untill i removed the basting from the attaching the  zipper, and now ive got these ugly lumps, any one know how to get rid of them?Huh

the other little question, is that there is one or two little pulls in the fabric which just look like a loop of fabric, can i just trim these
