I have been a busy little sewing-bee these past few days! I finished these pouches today (and have 2 hobo bags just waiting to be finished up too!) and thought I'd share. A few of them are a double zipper design, which is new to me, but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out! I ordered some great new fabrics and had fun turning them into something fun and useful!
Okay.. onto the cuteness!
First is the little hedgehog love zipper pouch!
And cute little love birds! (I'm giving this away in my blog too! (can I say that here? ))
Then, a pouch design that is pretty usual for me, but I still love it. A birdie applique.
All of the double zipper pouches were made with cottons. I did not use a pattern or tute, so I just kind of winged it.
The bird applique pouch is made from a wool-felt and lined in cotton.
What do you think? The double zipper pouches seem okay?
So I'm in the process of re-opening my etsy shop and have been updating my blog on my progress. I'm also setting up a new sewing studio and stuff too!
I used to get awesome traffic on my blog and I'd love to get that back. I know it will help once I'm actually up and sewing again but I was hoping to get a few opinions.
My blog link is in my sig.. but I'm curious to know what you guys think of my blog? Is it too personal, or do you like to have a bit of personal stuff mixed in with craftiness? I'm also planning on doing a mailing list through my blog that incorporates updates and sales in my etsy shop. What do you guys think of mailing lists?
Any comments are much appreciated! Craftsters have always been so helpful to me!
Gosh, it's been ages since I've sewn, let alone posted anything on craftster! Anyhoot, I'm back in the swing of things and this is my first creation.
This pouch was made to carry things that need extra TLC. It's interfaced and padded and has a little clip to make carrying it around super easy. I also appliqued a poppy on the front and added a cute button for extra flare.
I'm happy with my first real sewn item in almost a year!
So this is my Ellia Hat design. It's such a versatile hat and can be worn several ways. The first pictured is made from a bulky 100% alpaca yarn from Frog Tree. The second is a worsted weight alpaca from Blue Sky.
I'm so satisfied with the way this bag turned out! A skirt and pair of shoes inspired this tote bag, and everything went exactly the way I wanted it to. The straps are tied at the top, but can be untied for messenger bag style carrying. Two pockets inside and one on the back.
The main fabric is a dark navy blue corduroy. So rich in color in person. I'm addicted to corduroy!
What do you think about the straps? Look funny being tied?
So, I'm kind of an idiot, but maybe someone can help!
I was browsing the net and found a site based out of Japan that sells craft supplies, so I used a site translator to look around.
Well, I decided to place an order (they seemed to ship overseas) and did everything for the checkout. I got to the submit page, and then changed my mind because I was a bit scared. But, I somehow clicked submit and I think my order went through.
Then my translator went out and I have no idea what happened! I'm assuming my order went through because I got an email (that I can't read!).
All figured out!
I guess what I'm asking for is maybe another friendly craftster would be willing to read that email and tell me what's going on? lol
