Hey, seaofstars, did you find the turquoise owl pendant in the package, too?

Glad you liked everything - the orange and lemon slices for the kitty toys were so fun to make! And like I said, the knit wonton didn't turn out quite as I had hoped, but hey, hopefully your cats aren't picky about how things look!   Roll Eyes

I did! I'm sorry I forgot to mention it.  Sad But I loved it!! I loved it all. Seriously, the stationary was so perfect for me. And the mister obviously.. lol

Kitties were playing with the orange slices a few days ago and a friend came over and asked me why the cats were playing with orange slices. She thought they were real!  Cheesy

Thanks for all of the comments!  Smiley

I love the shape, and colors.

Just curious, did you fill the round part of the handles in with cording?

I didn't fill the handles, they really didn't need it.

My friends think this purse looks like a kidney bean!  Tongue

But I really love the color combo and it's similar to a design I've done before, but the shape is totally different.

It's made from wool felt and cottons, with leaf motif applique on the front. Matching zipper pouch too! What do you think of the shape, think it looks odd?

Thanks for looking!  Smiley

I received my goodies from Diana the other day and finally am getting caught up on my photos!

She sent me a cute vintage fabric "bowl" that will be great for my little sewing bits and bobs, along with gnome magnets, notecards and an embroidered zipper pouch.

Here's all the goodies!

Plus, she said she's sending me more later.. goodness!!

Thanks for the gnome goodies! I'm still admiring the embroidery, I'm still learning.  Wink

I am terribly behind with photos... So sorry!

I thought I'd share a few things I received...

MommytheMaid sent the cutest embroidered tea towels, along with a couple of sewn napkins that match my kitchen, amazing vintage(?) little greeting cards, candles and tea! Thanks so much!!!!

AsphaltQueen sent me a FANTASTIC stack of various stationary which has been abducted by the Mister and was not available for the photo shoot. She also sent a few toys for my kitty that have been hidden and very well loved. But, I do want to show off the fabulous owl earrings she sent me.  Grin

Missmuffcake also sent me two toys for the kittens which are somewhere.. being loved.  Wink

Thanks for all my wonderful goodies!  Cheesy

Thanks for all the lovely comments. What a great way to boost my day.  Cheesy

Seriously, practice, practice, practice. I sew all the time, I've been known to sit in my studio for eight + hours at a time just sewing. Try new things! I don't remember the last time I used an actual sewing pattern, but when I was just starting to sew I tried as many as I could.

Pay attention to design and construction when you see pieces you like somewhere. Once you understand how things are put together it's easier to start designing your own sewn items.

I still make mistakes all the time, (followed by a loud :sigh: or :ughhh: that can be heard a block away!  Wink ) but it helps me learn. And learning is good.

Just keep sewing, just keep sewing, just keep sewing, sewing, sewing.  Tongue
You'll get there!!

And BDDesigns.. I haven't forgotten about you!! Letter soon.. promise!  Grin

I'm done with everything but still just need to finish the last minute extra I decided to make. Goodness! Funny how the tiny extra is taking the most time.

I've been slacking a little bit, but next week will be my Gnome week of crafting. I have several things started, but I need to get finishing!

I love the appliques. I have recently tried a few myself. Do you fuse them on first?Huh?? Just wondering how you do it because yours look so great.

Dana

I do heat bond all of my appliques on first. Keeps them steady and easier to satin stitch.

wow, that is amazing!!
how do u sew so well?Huh
Could you post a pattern for any of them???

Practice, practice, practice!
I don't have any tutorials or patterns for these items. I tend to just make them up as I go. Smiley
