1  Springy Zipper Pouches! Hedgehogs, Gnomes, Birds and more! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by seaofstars on: March 05, 2011 01:07:34 PM
I have been a busy little sewing-bee these past few days! I finished these pouches today (and have 2 hobo bags just waiting to be finished up too!) and thought I'd share. A few of them are a double zipper design, which is new to me, but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out! I ordered some great new fabrics and had fun turning them into something fun and useful!

Okay.. onto the cuteness!

First is the little hedgehog love zipper pouch!

Gnome-y goodness!

And cute little love birds! (I'm giving this away in my blog too! (can I say that here?  Huh ))

Then, a pouch design that is pretty usual for me, but I still love it. A birdie applique.

All of the double zipper pouches were made with cottons. I did not use a pattern or tute, so I just kind of winged it.

The bird applique pouch is made from a wool-felt and lined in cotton.

What do you think? The double zipper pouches seem okay?

Thanks for looking! Smiley

2  The Poppy Gal Gadget bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by seaofstars on: August 09, 2009 07:57:28 PM
Gosh, it's been ages since I've sewn, let alone posted anything on craftster! Anyhoot, I'm back in the swing of things and this is my first creation.

This pouch was made to carry things that need extra TLC. It's interfaced and padded and has a little clip to make carrying it around super easy. I also appliqued a poppy on the front and added a cute button for extra flare.

I'm happy with my first real sewn item in almost a year!  Smiley

3  Mossy Green Handbag and Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by seaofstars on: March 16, 2008 10:07:58 AM
My friends think this purse looks like a kidney bean!  Tongue

But I really love the color combo and it's similar to a design I've done before, but the shape is totally different.

It's made from wool felt and cottons, with leaf motif applique on the front. Matching zipper pouch too! What do you think of the shape, think it looks odd?

4  Re: Gnome Swap Round 2 GALLERY!!! in The Swap Gallery by seaofstars on: March 15, 2008 08:36:15 PM
I received my goodies from Diana the other day and finally am getting caught up on my photos!

She sent me a cute vintage fabric "bowl" that will be great for my little sewing bits and bobs, along with gnome magnets, notecards and an embroidered zipper pouch.

Here's all the goodies!

Plus, she said she's sending me more later.. goodness!!

Thanks for the gnome goodies! I'm still admiring the embroidery, I'm still learning.  Wink

5  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 31 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by seaofstars on: March 15, 2008 08:27:28 PM
I am terribly behind with photos... So sorry!

I thought I'd share a few things I received...

MommytheMaid sent the cutest embroidered tea towels, along with a couple of sewn napkins that match my kitchen, amazing vintage(?) little greeting cards, candles and tea! Thanks so much!!!!

AsphaltQueen sent me a FANTASTIC stack of various stationary which has been abducted by the Mister and was not available for the photo shoot. She also sent a few toys for my kitty that have been hidden and very well loved. But, I do want to show off the fabulous owl earrings she sent me.  Grin

Missmuffcake also sent me two toys for the kittens which are somewhere.. being loved.  Wink

Thanks for all my wonderful goodies!  Cheesy

6  A few new bags and wallets.. I've been busy! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by seaofstars on: March 06, 2008 04:00:03 PM
I just re-stashed my fabric supply and have been having lots of fun sewing up some new goodies. Here's a few of the things I've completed recently.

Apple Mouse Messenger bag: Made from some fantastic wool and cute japanese import linen blend fabric. I just love it!

Ahoy Clutch: Some more fantastic wool and anchor applique on front.

Sweet little sheep wallet: More import fabric! I love how this wallet turned out.

Birdy Zipper pouch: Found this fabric and had to have it!

*Whew!* I still have more things I'd like to make too. Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!  Smiley

7  Re: Spice up your Kitchen Swap (Signups Closed) Sendouts by 3/25 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by seaofstars on: February 25, 2008 07:21:08 PM
So.. I've been waiting for this swap to start and have been thinking up bunches of ideas. As soon as I got my partner info, I stalked a few posts and her wist and think I have a really good feel for her style.

And.. I'm done! Grin
I crafted my bootie off tonight, but I got everything finished, plus a few extras. I'm so happy with everything and the way it all turned out. I was just in the "kitchen goodies" moment and went with it. I hope you'll love everything loopylamb!

P.S- if anyone is interested in seeing what I made, I'd be happy to share some extra inspriation.  Wink

And finally, here are a few pics of my kitchen.

Lots of green in person. Accents of red, white and wood. I totally had my brother put up my pans on the wall when he came to visit.  Smiley

8  Ellia Hat... With pattern link! in Crochet: Completed Projects by seaofstars on: February 25, 2008 12:41:59 AM
So this is my Ellia Hat design. It's such a versatile hat and can be worn several ways. The first pictured is made from a bulky 100% alpaca yarn from Frog Tree. The second is a worsted weight alpaca from Blue Sky.

There are more pics and finally a pattern on my blog.

If you make an Ellia, I'd love to see it!

Also, I'd just like to thank Tina, my hat model, for being so patient and understanding during the photo shoot.

Tina.. you're fantastic.  Wink

9  Anchors Away Tote Bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by seaofstars on: February 24, 2008 06:23:06 PM
I'm so satisfied with the way this bag turned out! A skirt and pair of shoes inspired this tote bag, and everything went exactly the way I wanted it to.
The straps are tied at the top, but can be untied for messenger bag style carrying. Two pockets inside and one on the back.

The main fabric is a dark navy blue corduroy. So rich in color in person. I'm addicted to corduroy! Wink

What do you think about the straps? Look funny being tied?

Thanks for looking! Smiley

10  apples and mice, trees and birds, robots and matryoshka dolls galore! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by seaofstars on: February 19, 2008 11:22:01 PM
I've been waiting on a fabric order to come in, and it did!

So, instead of my usual zipper pouches, I made these box pouches instead. They range in size from 10" - 6" long.

Aren't the fabrics the cutest?! And it took me for.ev.er to figure out how to get this box pouches just right. But, it was certainly worth the effort.
