Wow, haven't posted in ages.

Well here's my newest work, it's an art project I did for my 2D painting assessment. Took me a whole 6.5 hours to sew the furisode...yeah, a looong time, but that's cause I had to figure out how to work the machine, this is pretty much my first time sewing lol. No pattern, just some basic idea of how to cut it using a doll making site.

You probably noticed the kanzashi used is the same one I posted earlier on ^^

Not exactly my best, but I was kinda...umm cramming it lol, I pretty much painted the whole thing, save the maiko, overnight and on the day it way due ^^; yes, silly me. Ok now let's see if I can get some pics on!

the whole thing

This was done in gold paint

Well that's all!

kmsmaverick Thank you! You should really give it another shot, It takes me forever to make one flower but it's definitely fun! I'm planning to get some bead tweezers soon, since I think they would become helpful while gluing

Sumballo Thank you very much ^^

pucchimaiko Thank you! Though compared to you, I'm a beginner...what...I am! lol. I love your site- Immortal Geisha BTW. Now I'm obsessed!
94  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Where can I buy Stamen and Rice Starch/glue on the Sunshine Coast on: August 24, 2005 02:24:53 AM
Hi there!

I'm just wondering if anybody knows where I can by stamens and rice starch/glue, the stuff you use for book binding, on the Sunshine Coast. If not, any online stores in Australia?

Thanks heaps!

Jen

moopii - Thank you ^^ It was the only material I had available ^^; I'm glad you like it!

Compositore Zippy - Thank you! ^^ A kanzashi is a type of Japanese Hair Ornament made out of Silk, well usually.

PixieSkull - Thank you! This one is going to be used for an art project, but I'm planning to make another one for myself to wear. It would look like a garden wouldn't it? ^^

KrIsTiNa - Great! Aren't they absolutely fun to make? Though cause I'm still a newbie to it, I find it extremely hard to make it glue on, lol. I would love to see some of your work too ^^!
