That is so cute! I'm working on a hat right now, and planning on a skirt for this summer.

Thank you so much!

I made one, but the lining on the inside doesn't lie smoothly. I think I sewed it too big. Oh, and I think I put the lining on inside out. But in theory, if you know what you're doing (as I do not), then my bag would be pretty!

You know, that's the question that I get asked the most. No, it doesn't smell like Starbursts, it smells like plastic!

Thanks, thanks, thanks!

It's not MADE out of cardboard. I just put cardboard on the bottom so it wouldn't rip out.

And it took a long time...I think I figured it out in another post.

I did that. Made a wallet out of Starburst wrappers, I mean. I made two at first, and gave two away. Then I made myself a better one with fifty zillion pockets and velcro. I'd show pics, but photobucket's acting up...

I made the wallets before the backpack. I just didn't think they were worth commenting on because of the proliferation of things like comic book wallets.

Thank you so much!!! :-) Y'all are so sweet! I'm making a smaller purse out of either Pez wrappers or Skittles wrappers. Whichever I get first.

Thanks! Yeah, I just taped it together. I measured a wrapper, then my school books, and figured out how many wrappers per panel I'd need, then made big sheets of Starburst wrappers. Then, I taped the seams, added the cardboard and strap, and was done! The inside is also taped with threaded clear tape, I'm thinking about "lining" it with shiny duct tape.

Altogether, it took me two months. That's including the time it took me to get the wrappers. Once I had them, it took about five hours and three rolls of tape. I got another roll just to make sure it's safe. There are a lot of hidden pockets and things on the inside, too, to hold random pens and notebooks and things.

Inspired by the Beatles pants, but nowhere near as cool. These have been posted just about everywhere, too, so excuse me if you've already seen them.

Edit: Tutorial at www.geocities.com/craftylike/diy.html
It's the first or second link.

I made this a couple months ago out of Starburst wrappers, a little clear tape, and some cardboard. I didn't even have to eat any Starbursts...I just passed out bags to my friends and told them that if I didn't get the wrappers back, I'd stab them with knitting needles.

I do not lie about knitting needles.
