wow.  thats really cool.  i've also seen an idea where you put an old record in the micrwave for 10 seconds and it melts.  then you mould it into a bowl like shape.  i have a few of them sitting in my room.  its a great idea, but now i know about your idea too!

I like yours better and I like the fact that you made yours longer, too! How did you do it?

wellll... i don't think i ever intended it to be longer or anything... it just turned out that way for some reason.  i think its the length of the necklace i used.  thanks for commenting!

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bottle Cap Necklace Remake on: February 12, 2006 09:30:39 AM
I rented Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (the movie with Lindsay Lohan) for my kid sister and I ended up watching it with her.  The necklace that lindsay lohan's character "Lola"  is wearing is absolutely phenomenal!  i fell in love with it!   I searched craftster for something like that and i found look a likes that were great so i tried my own hand at it.  Soooo... i bout a few cheap necklaces, some scrapbook bottlecap embellishments and i put it together into a necklace!!! it actually wasn't as hard as i thought it was and it definitely didn't take as long as i thought it would.  It's definitely not as good as the original (seeing as i don't have vintage coke bottle caps)  but, yea, its good enough for me, and plus im not pro jewekery maker either.

here's the original from the movie vvvv

and here's my take on it vvvv

me wearing it vvvv

please leave your comments questions etc.... thanks for looking!
