1  Re: Read to Me, Mommy Round 3 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by A2JC4life on: May 30, 2012 08:14:06 PM
We received, and not only have I been horribly slow about getting pictures here, I just realized that the photos I do have are lacking in several important respects: the book is missing from the pictures, one item is blurry, and a wearable is not photographed being worn.  *sigh*  But I suppose some pictures are better than no pictures, so here goes (and I will try to remember to photograph the wearable when next my daughter puts it on):

The book shipped separately, so I forgot to take a picture, but it was The Little Red Hen - wonderful, classic choice that we, amazingly, did not own yet!

Extras:

(She is holding the second item backward; that's a dry erase board, and she is loving it!)

A gardening apron:

with seeds:

(There were more seeds, but the kids pulled the packets out one at a time, and I didn't think you wanted a zillion photos of individual seed packets. lol)

and tools for planting the seeds:

A bright, fun newspaper-bead necklace:

to go with this awesome pillowcase dress:

And we had to laugh, because these things match my kitchen, which is red, white, black, and yellow with chickens!:

(That is her apron held up against my curtains.)

Thank you again!  You guys did a fantastic job picking things for us!  Sophia is really looking forward to planting her seeds as soon as we get a spare moment to breathe.

3  Re: 50 projects in 2011 in Craftalongs by A2JC4life on: December 25, 2011 05:59:21 PM
Darn it; I think I missed some pages.  (I had this thread open in a Firefox tab, and my browser crashed/restarted - that sort of messed up the whole "last viewed post" thing.  Embarrassed )

I have been crafting like crazy trying to get Christmas gifts done.  I actually still have three left to do, for family we won't actually see 'til the 7th.

But in the meantime...I've added photos to (most of) #'s 48-80 on my list.  These are recent projects (from November/December):

Upcycled hummingbird feeder and tutorial

Cloth colors book for Livia

Easy card tutorial

Elastic bookmark + tutorial

Soy candles (didn't think to take a picture - they don't look exciting)

Baby toy for our chiropractor's new baby

polka dot dresses  (There is another mostly-pink one for my baby, and another mostly-brown one for my niece, but I was already uploading a zillion photos, so I just added one.)

yarn containers

Advent calendar

"tin soldier" ornaments

crochet kit (proj. bag, hook roll, stitch markers)

satin robe

apron

GF chocolate crinkles

chocolate wrapper zipper pouches

Bible marking kit

faux quilted coasters

movie night baskets (4, including "recipe cards" w/ popcorn instructions)

magnetic Silly Putty (no photo)

sit-stand-walk ornaments

4  Advent Calendar in Winter Holidays by A2JC4life on: December 25, 2011 09:18:13 AM

This Advent calendar has been in the works for three Decembers now.  I finally finished it.  It's large - the full width of a sheet of plywood - and has a nativity scene painted on it, minus baby Jesus.

The whole thing is covered with hooks, including two hooks that hold a separate, three-dimensional manger.  (It's a bit out of scale, because of the purpose I had for it.)  The hooks hold large tags that are numbered 1-24.  Each day from December 1st 'til Christmas Eve, my daughters remove one tag, revealing the picture little by little. (The tags store in the bottom of the manger.)  On Christmas Eve, overnight, I place "baby Jesus" in the manger.  (No photo of that yet.  And our "baby Jesus" doll disappeared, so the one I had to use this year is a little too big even for the giant manger.)

A painter (or artist of any kind) I am not!  My hubby drew Bethlehem for me.  The shepherds, sheep, and Mary and Joseph were taken from the "Come, Let Us Adore Him" embroidery pattern found at YouCanMakeThis.com.

5  Re: Kids' Craft and Swap Rnd 4 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by A2JC4life on: November 03, 2011 08:28:09 PM
I owe our angel a huge apology!  Her package arrived while I was heading out of town last week, and then when I got back I thought I'd posted pictures but, it turns out, I uploaded them and never put them in an actual post.  Embarrassed  So sorry, Miss Barbara!

(All of the little ones are clickable thumbnails.)

Here is the package, with the card that was on top, expressing empathy that the original package did not arrive:

You can see she was so disappointed with the horse theme Wink :

It's a little hard to see in this picture, but this is a piggy bank:

A puzzle (She loves puzzles!):

Seashells:

A small horse:

A doll blanket:

Ribbons:

Unwrapping something, to find...

...this (It's a suncatcher.  They don't photograph well.  Undecided ) :

Funny story.  This next item is a folio for holding state quarters, which my daughter collects.  Miss Barbara and her daughter very generously included some actual quarters.  When we opened it up and saw that, my four-year-old exclaimed that her sister must be "almost rich!"

And this final item is a calendar:

Thank you!!

I'm so sorry I've taken so long to post pictures of Emma's wonderful work!

Sophia was so excited to get her package.

Wand.  (Sophia said, "Oooh.  That's really cute!" Smiley )

tote bag, crayon roll, and the wand again:

crayon roll up close:

door hanger and silly bands  There are some hair "ties," too, but I'm not sure which picture they got into:

recycled crayons:

coloring book to use with the crayons, and a really sweet princess book:

I was totally spoiled by Hollycopter!  My package contained ALL of this:

skull and crossbones pillow

King of the Lab apron

Hodgela wedding wall clock

(From a distance, Hodgins looks a bit like my hubby in this picture.  He said, "That looks like me, but who else is in the picture?" lol)

framed Bones comic

magnets

necklace

(One of the bones broke off.  And the glass in the comic picture was cracked.  But those are the only casualties, and easily fixed.)

extra critters

And the piece de resistnce - this box:

which opens to reveal this:

Thank you, Holly - it was an amazing package!

8  Chuck Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by A2JC4life on: August 10, 2011 06:02:39 AM
(Original Swap Thread)

I feel a little silly creating a gallery for just two of us. It seems we should almost have just done a personal swap.  But here is the epic project I received from Calabaza.

She took note of the fact that watching Chuck is a family affair for us, so she made a Chuck-inspired board game ("Back to Base-X") we can enjoy together.  This board looks like it has to have taken forever!  It's beautifully made.  It's based on Sorry!, with spy-themed rules.

And then she made this little matchbook-style needle case.  (I didn't think to take a picture of the inside.)  This will be great in my purse. Smiley

Thank you, Calabaza!  (And I'm sorry it took me so long to get this up - first week of homeschooling for the year, AND our car broke down - made our week a bit crazy.)

Package 3

I received package three from Southern Flower a few days ago, and have been remiss in posting pictures.  (We homeschool, and this is our first week of school, so things have been a bit crazy.)  Here is my awesome package:

Oh.  All images are clickable thumbnails.

The package was topped with this beautiful fabric:

And contained a complete needle-felting kit:

I'm so excited, because this is one of those things I've wanted to learn to do, but probably wouldn't have ever gotten around to getting the supplies for myself.  But my daughter and I will probably both experiment with this very soon.

And utilizing her best craft, my partner made me these lovely earrings.  (Hopefully you can see them.  Earrings are hard to photograph!)
packaged beautifully in this cute little bag:

The package also contained decorative tissues (so beautiful!), more of some bag clips she sent last time that work great and are in use constantly, and these "magic animals" for my girls.

The magic animals grow crystals to look like this: (Pardon the crappy picture.  I tried and tried, but this was the best I could get it to focus.)

Thank you so much, Southern Flower, for a great swap!  I enjoyed choosing items for you, and hope I did as good a job matching them to your tastes as you did mine!
