I don't know if this is supposed to go here but... I was at Laura's Fashion Fabrics (White Rock) the other day and they had a used Brother embroidery machine there for $399. It already had quite a few good designs onthere, and it was in good condition. It was a great price, and I've always wanted an embroidery machine!! So I went back today, and asked about some things. I asked them if you could design your own images, and then use some sort of software to put it on the machine? They said, yes, you can do that, and the software for it costs around $1200. !!!!!!! I was shocked... this is 3 times the price of the machine itself! How can measly software cost this much??!! they also said that software w/ patterns already on it goes for about $400-$500. I don't get it.. why does it cost so much??
I really had my heart set on this machine, but now I don't think I can get it, what with the cost of all the software. Are there any other brand embroidery machines that are about this cheap, good quality, that would be worth looking into? I would like to design my own things too, so if the software was not extremely expensive for that, that would be awesome!!
I am looking for some good thrift stores in the Surrey/White Rock area, or great fabric, knick-knack, cheap clothes, etc. stores. Anything like this around here? Thanks for any help!
I did find this AWESOME fabric store, Save-On-Fabrics. (not the grocery store!! ^^) It's so much cheaper than Laura's Fashion Fabrics, and only a little further away. & It's huge. I can't remember exactly where it is... >"< but I'm sure you could find the address if you google it... but it rocks! Looks like a hole in the wall, but an awesome hole in the wall...
I have read a few tutorials on silk screening, and have been pondering whether to take it up or not. It seems very complicated, and expensive with all the materials needed and what not. And time and effort are a big factor too. I was just wondering, is it worth it? Is it worth for me to take it up? And is it very hard? I don't know if I want to try this, or just stick with stenciling
I am trying to learn how to crochet for the first time... and I am really starting to get frusterated. I have been trying to learn for almost a month and I just can't seem to get it. I was trying to learn off online crochet how-to's. Does anybody have any advice, or sites that could maybe help me? Thanks!
I have been trying to find a really good stencil of this group, but I can't find any. And as I am hopeless in making my own... Does anybody have anylinks to sites that have stencils of the barenaked ladies ready to be printed out? Thanks !! I really appreciate it
I love it! Althought it took awhile to figure out how to make a buttonhole, and I had a few problems with the pocket (I sewed it on the wrong side, so I had to take out all the stitches!!) I love the way it turned out! Thanks for looking, comments are appreciated!
I know this is for clothing, but is it okay if we do a purse-thing sewalong? Sorry if I'm not allowed...
Anyways, This is for a messenger bag! Anybody wants to make messenger bags and post them and maybe a tut on here so other people can see how to make them! I've been wanting to make one for ages, so I thought it would be a good idea.
Let's see... I wanted to make a messenger bag for school, but I can't seem to find a good pattern! So it needs to be big enough to hold a couple binder/books/other school stuff, and lots of pockets! And strong lol. So if anybody has every made a messenger bag before, help please! Thanks! And if you have any links to good tuts or something too...
Okay, so I have this golf shirt from my band last year, and I want to reconstruct it somehow so that I can wear it to school + places. But I don't know what to do with it. It is really big and red, with a collar.
So any comments/ ideas would be appreciated!! Thanks.
