22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / i like plaid. you should too! my first dress was a success. on: January 02, 2007 05:58:18 PM
okay, so it wasn't a success at first. i've come along way, with the help of my friend's mom and my boyfriend's mom. i had a lot of trouble with my bodice. we had to take it apart and re-do it. i used see&sew pattern b4704, because it was a cheap pattern Smiley haha.

no belt?

or belt? i don't like the texture of the "pleather". so i was thinking of making one some how. any clue where i can start with that? i want to make sure it doesn't fall down of course while i'm dancing, since the dress is for my semi. thanks for looking!

i decided to post a close-up picture of the clutch even though i posted it in another forum.  hope that's alright?

yes, we did indeed match  Cheesy

23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / a tie.. the cheap way! on: January 01, 2007 05:34:51 PM
i covered a christmas tree tie with a fabric to match my semi dress!

i used double-sided tape to make it stick.
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / plaid clutch with bow.. it matches my dress and my date's tie! on: January 01, 2007 05:12:51 PM
i wanted a purse to go with my semi-formal dress. a clutch came to mind  Smiley i also "re-upolstered" (where's my dictionary) my date's tie to match as well.

the lining was done weird  Huh i guess i'll learn from my mistakes. have any idea how i should put the bow on? right now it is just pinned. thanks for looking!

i've never made a tute for anything before... but i can give you some help. i use stiffened felt! it's basically my secret haha. then you just cut 2 pieces of fabric for the lining and outside. i just sew them together attempting to fold under all the edges of fabric. the next clutch i make, i'll post photos!  Smiley

These are some button bracelets that i made. The first picture shows all 4 of the button bracelets. The second photo is of the button bracelet that i made out of a combination of light pink, pink, and blue buttons with a big white star button. I like to call that one cotton candy. The third picture is of the button bracelet that i made out of all different shades of pink buttons. The fourth picture is of a button bracelet that i made out of my grandma's antique buttons, most of the buttons on the bracelet are made out of pearl. That is my favorite one..! Then the last picture is of the button bracelet that i made using lime green, orange, and pink buttons with a hot pink heart button. Please leave lots of comments and let me know if you like them. There really easy to make too!
