1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Question about reselling reconstructed clothing on: January 06, 2008 06:17:21 PM
ok cool. =) I look around on the internet for a general idea of what I want to do but the artwork is always my own so it works out.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Question about reselling reconstructed clothing on: January 06, 2008 05:06:22 PM
Does anyone know if there are any laws against buying a shirt, changing it somehow, then reselling it with a tag saying "design by ____"?
For Christmas I bought some cheap shirts online and used fabric paint to pretty them up and gave them as gifts to family and I was thinking about continuing that and selling them to make a little extra money. But I don't know if it's really allowed if the tag says already says "hanes" or something. lol
Even better though, does anyone know where to get clothes made specifically for design and resale?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: I have a quick question about making a scarf... on: August 16, 2007 02:07:15 PM
Thanks so much everyone. ^_^
I have another question though  Cheesy

When a patter says to 'skip' does that mean don't do any part of the chain at all, or does it mean to do the chain, just don't attach it like one normally would?
Oh! And the beginning of the pattern says: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.
What does that mean? XD I know what the abbreviations mean but it just doesn't seem to... compute. lol

I'm very much a beginner... I've crocheted before but I never tried any other stitch from the first one I learned. =P

Thanks so much! I wasn't really sure whether one way would work better, like make it sag less or something. But if either way works that's great! ^_^
Thanks for the tip too, unfortunately I only have one hook. =/ All the other ones that were once floating around the house seem to have mysteriously disapeared. lol
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I have a quick question about making a scarf... on: August 16, 2007 01:27:49 AM
Should I start with one long chain the length of the scarf and continue going the long way, or should I go back and forth the short way?

Thanks so much!

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / I had to share this with you... on: November 27, 2006 02:53:02 PM
If you have tips for a complete and total beginner that would be uber wonderful. I want to start quilting but I have no idea about... anything. I'm slowly learning from internet searches and you guys, and I'm going to grab a bus over to the bookstore tomorrow to find a nifty book. Mostly though I wanted to share this with you guys...
I was searching quilt shops around me and of course... The nearest one is a cult...
Wouldn't have it any other way. XD
I found them a while back when I was searching some thing or another, and I can't believe they didn't come to mind when I first got interested in quilting. Basicly they all live in the same little neighborhood, they take away all of their member's posessions and The Piecemakers (their store) is their source of income.

...
'Mamma! I'm off to take quilting classes from the cult!'
'Don't get sucked in, dear'
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Rockin Booties on: October 05, 2006 09:53:25 PM
Wow! Those are nearly exactly like some I wanted to buy for my baby brother, except yours have better guitars and I'm sure they were MUCH cheeper. (The ones I saw were nearly $30  Shocked ) Perhaps I'll just make some for him instead. =P
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / My sewing machine has issues... help? on: September 21, 2006 09:23:41 PM
I don't know if it's broken or if I'm just not using it right, or maybe it just needs oiling/adjustments? It started acting funny when we moved but we found a belt inside was off it's track, so we fixed that but it hasn't worked right since we moved... then moved again. XP See, what happens, is sometimes it makes horrible metal noises, and the thread breaks a lot, and there's always a load of extra thread on the bottom side of whatever I'm working on, the top too, but mostly on the bottom. I've tried adjusting the tension but it doesn't help any. Does anyone have any clue as to what's going on here? I'm thinking about just buying a new one with my next paycheck cause I really want to sew something and I'm uber impatient. lol But my mom thinks I should take it in somewhere, but I thought I'd check to see if anyone here had any ideas of something I could try, cause like I said... I'm impatient. =)

Thank you! ^_^

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "_____ in a box" gift ideas. on: September 11, 2006 10:50:43 PM
Rockstar in a box

I saw mention of that in a much earlier post and though it would be a great idea for my friend's bithday. That's what he really wants to do with his life, so... I'm gonna ponder this and write down a few ideas and whatnot, but do you guys have any other ideas? His fav. band right now is megadeath, he plays guitar, basicly he just wants to be a musician. I always have so much trouble shopping for boys, girls are way easier, some yummy lotion and they're happy. lol
So, any ideas you have would be wonderful. Thank you! ^_^

oooh, I think I might try that with eyelash glue, cause I don't feel like going to a costume store. =P Plus I don't know if I'm allergic to latex or not and don't want to find out with my eye.
