21  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Ideas for leftover 5 layer bean dip? on: January 31, 2012 09:40:55 PM
It's a huge amount of food.  Layer one is homemade bean dip, the second is canned salsa, the third is diced tomatoes, the fourth is sour cream with taco seasoning, and the top is cheese.

What the heck do I do with this?  (It's in the fridge for a while, and I pretty sure I can finish it in a few days.)

Oh god, it's good....I just polished off the rest of the bag of chips with it.  Screw my housemates, they can just live with my tummy music.
22  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Handcarved Rubber Stamp Swap? on: January 08, 2012 09:05:12 PM

I would limit it to maybe one to five stamps.

23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Live green swap? on: December 18, 2011 09:19:04 AM
So, yeah, I've been back home (I live on campus for much of the year), and so far, I've managed to waste a ton of product regarding swiffer mops, cleaning fluid (I use a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water), and other stuff.   The only truly green product I use is diy laundry detergent (because it smells good, and I hate using fabric softener).

So, yeah - anyone want a live green swap?

I'm thinking maybe a 5 point swap?
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Gah! Stuck for a knitty gift for a manly guy! on: October 13, 2011 05:18:25 PM
So, I'm in residence in university, and one of our neighbours is a lovely guy who keeps making cupcakes/muffins for our house.  He's into Buffy the Vampire slayer, Dr. Who and a couple of other things.  I was thinking of knitting a dishcloth for him for Winter break - but dunno what to make.

25  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Ness (Earthbound/Mother 2/Smash Brothers) Cosplay on: August 23, 2011 07:23:32 AM

Tee shirt and hat were from the thrift store.  (I was lucky, found what I needed in the one and only trip to the store!)

Me as Ness from Earthbound. Shirt is 100% cotton painted with acrylic paint in stripes. Hat is modified is much the same way. Wearing jeans (which is a fail in itself, but I have a tattoo that does not match this cospaly)! Shoes are old winter boots....

Oh, I'm not bound in this photo - just have the binding sports bra on. I'm not going four hours with full on duct tape binding!
26  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Okay, what's the least messy way to paint stripes on a shirt? on: August 11, 2011 11:46:33 AM
I'm attempting to do a homemade version of Ness (from Earthbound/Super Smash Melee), and I have the hat and shirt.

I need to paint the yellow shirt, and will probably end up using the same acrylic as I did for the hat.

Any suggestions?
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Anyone interested in a one tiny Pokemon thing swap? on: August 06, 2011 11:46:46 AM
This swap will be based on our love of Pokemon.  Did you grow up watching the cartoon?  Did you spend freshman year of high school playing Pokemon?

Well....I hope there is interest.  As well as a co-organizer.

Long live Team Rocket!

29  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / A Ness (Earthbound/Smash Brothers/Mother 2) Rubber Stamp on: April 01, 2011 10:48:43 PM

I love this Ness rubber stamp.  It's a tiny little thing, 1 inch by 1.5 inches.
30  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Dark Mark Rubber Stamp, baby. Long live Voldemort! on: March 14, 2011 05:20:58 PM

Was in a dark mood, so ended up carving this.  It stands 3.2 inches high.

It is made out of "A For Big Mistakes" rubber eraser, one of the thinner ones.  (I found that the campus store sells them.)
