Here's another in the same pattern. The colors are a bit wonky...its chocolate brown, pumpkin orange, green, & ivory.  I think this is the 9th one for Project Linus.

I'm almost ready to start an adult size!  Shocked
(and I'm almost putting the border on another one)

3  Another baby blanket! in Crochet: Completed Projects by amaryllisroze on: March 11, 2014 07:45:58 AM
This is the first time I've managed to put a border on something! This time its a gift for a co-worker, rather than a Project Linus donation.

4  Baby Blankets in Crochet: Completed Projects by amaryllisroze on: March 05, 2014 10:47:38 AM
These are a couple of blankets I've finished recently (except the tan/ivory/green...its still in progress).
The first two were donated to Project Linus. The last one is for a co-worker's baby.

It didn't take long for me to add more to this. It healed wonderfully.

I received from the amazing Mistress Jennie yesterday. I was pretty vague on themes (as usual) and she did a superb job and landed on one of my fave songs, "Birdhouse in Your Soul" by They Might Be Giants. Thank you soooo much!

Behold...

(I don't know why I can't get the image of the nest any larger!)

Here is the crafty tribute to my mom. I have a feeling more elements will be added over time.  Smiley

8  Calculating Yardage in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by amaryllisroze on: January 20, 2014 09:01:47 AM
I want to make a granny square of my down design. I've got 5 colors in mind and want the squares to be 8 to 10 inches. I'm  not terribly concerned with overall size, but I'm thinking more of a throw for the sofa than a big blanket. The yarn I want to use is bulky weight (3.5oz/100g/135 yrd/123 m balls and the gauge is 9 sc & 12 rows = 4 inches with an 8mm hook).

Is there any way to tell from that information, roughly how much I would need for each color? Or am I out of my brain thinking I can figure this out without making a test square? I need to order the yarn online and they've got dye lot numbers of course.

This is the overall look I'm going for. (check out those mad photoshop skillz!  Cheesy )

9  Stitch question...wool-eater vs. whatever this is.... in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by amaryllisroze on: January 16, 2014 11:15:32 AM
What is the difference between the wool-eater ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=430786.0#axzz2qadE3Ob6 )
and whatever this is?

I made a "Catherine Wheel" scarf using the stitch in the Crochet Stitch Dictionary book, but it doesn't look like either of these. Its more rounded and swirly.

(*the rainbow pattern isn't mine! Its an image I found online)

10  Brown & Blue Ripple Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by amaryllisroze on: January 15, 2014 01:46:07 PM

Again, I used the Bernat Wavy Ripple blanket pattern. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn. I think it came out to about 2 skeins of brown, just under 2 of the blue and less than 1 of the ivory. I think it came out to about 44 inches long, but I can't remember how wide. I started with a chain of 204 and used a 5.5mm hook.
