Wow, great! Thanks everyone! Cheesy

I talked with him and the Not Quite Straight scarf was a huge hit! Also, I'm going to make him a plain ribbed scarf with the baby alpaca I bought, except I'm going to do it on DPNs so I'll finally perfect my technique! Cheesy

Wheee! Thanks again!

Hello! I am a little frustrated right now and would like some input or, maybe, reassurance?

I am knitting my boyfriend a few scarves for his birthday in February. I asked him to find a pattern for a scarf he likes, but he has been picking out very simple ribbed patterns. He doesn't want cables, he wants ribbed. Ribbing bores me to death. Is there some way to spice it up some?

I've spent plenty of hours exploring scarf patterns myself and I haven't been able to find something that isn't lace that looks challenging (he wants a warm, masculine scarf). I have the most fun knitting when I'm learning something new! Does anyone have some pattern suggestions that were fun knits for them? Time intensive is a-okay. Cheesy

Could I get the pattern notes, too please?

I must say that I am incredibly intimidated as I am a new knitter. Reassure me that absolutely no one bites and I'll be there. Grin

I've kept an eye out for knitting groups, but I had no idea there were so many--or any yarn shops! And I thought I knew Eugene! Shocked

Thanks!
