I've been in love with Gail (aka Nightsongs) for quite some time now, and I finally made it. I won this yarn in a Battlestar Galactica fibery game, it's dyed by Christina Marie Potter, and I love it!



I HATE blocking, I love what it does, but I hate actually doing it, so it took me almost 2 weeks to get it blocked:

I love the Cylony yarn. I had to bind off early because I ran out of yarn, so I ended up using a different red yarn to bind off. I like it, it sort of frames the piece a bit.

And my Storm Cloud Shawlette:


Yarn is Cadenza by Estelle. I was really sick last week, and I needed a simple project and this was just perfect!

Well, I guess two are "wraps" technically. I love shawls, I'm the shawl lady now and I love it! All were made over the summer, I've made a ton more but don't want a huge FO dump, so here are the highlights of my summer shawl knitting:

I jumped on the bandwagon way late, but now I understand why everyone loves to make Clapotis. I totally bought this yarn just so I could match it to eyeliner. I used Araucania Ranco, which is like my new favourite yarn. I love it so much!


My Juno Regina, which I am in love with. I made mine 7 repeats wide because I wanted a wider stole and had more yardage than the pattern called for, so i figured I'd use most of it up. That 42" of the middle section was killer though!
Made with Diamond Yarn Luxury Collection Baby Alpaca Lace (2.5 skeins)



And my latest, which I completed very recently, Lavalette. Made in worsted weight (cascade 220, about 2 skeins) so it's much bigger than the lace version, and much warmer, which I need because winter is fast approaching. I ran out of yarn at the end, so I cut the last repeat about 10 rows short so I could do the final rows properly.

This is my third crochet project ever, it took me so long to learn. I knew the stitches, I was comfortable with them, but maybe it's because I am a obessive knitter, but I didn't know where the put the hook and distinguish what was a stitch and what wasn't.

My first two crochet projects were a shawl, and then wee easter baskets which I was pleased with, but this pattern made me fall in love with crochet. I get it now. I totally get it.

This is my most favourite thing I've ever made, I wear it all the time, and have even changed my wardrobe around a bit so I can wear it more often. I have tons of green clothes, but something just feels wrong with wearing green and red together, I think I'll have to make a few more in other colours. This one is smaller than what the pattern suggested, a lot smaller. But I really wanted to wear it the day after I started it and hadn't finished, I kind of like the smaller size because it doesn't get in the way quite as much as larger shawls.

I think it's fairly safe to say I'm a convert.

I felt like I needed something a bit lacy in hopes that spring would come soon, but would be able to wear it as a winter scarf when I eventually realized that spring wasn't coming. I've been in love with purple for a little while now and just about everything I've knit has been purple since the new year. The love is starting to fade though.

I absolutely love this one! I just love the fabric and how you can kind of see the polka dots but not really, they're a lot less noticeable in person, but the flash was on..it's also beaded along the black stripes.



REALLY bad photo taking skills





This one has pockets, and on the pockets is a poem kinda thing, in french and english (but they're both translated horribly, which is why I like it, hehe) and it's gold with sparkles.

A couple weeks ago I decided I needed to make some knitting needles, so my dad and I brought out the heavy equipment (which really wasn't necessary, but it was funny) and I made a couple pairs, but only photographed one, and...not very good. (sorry for the huge pic)



They're a size 7.5mm and I love them, I actually covered them in scrapbooking paper, and I didn't really know what I was doing, so it looks a little bad, but at least now I have a pretty good idea of how to do it. And then I just added some cute green/gold butterfly beads to the ends.

I was a little worried about how they'd knit things up, but I've used them numerous times with different yarns and it's just like my other needles.

So I just recently started to get more into sewing, I've done a bit here and there but not a whole lot. And the reason why I took it up was because I found a really awesome fabric store and instead of collecting fabrics, I've decided to actually make stuff.



It still need a zipper, or buttons..or something to close it. It seems like it was a better idea on paper, I don't really like it all that much anymore.



I love this one, it reminds me of bubblegum.



I absolutely love this fabric and I've been trying to find the perfect thing to make with it, but it's an overwhelming print and nothing turned out all that good, so I just went with a simple skirt.



When I saw this fabric I thought it was just..strange, and I had to have it. The straps are a little off, I'm going to have to fix those.

The story: I found a bunch of this yarn in my closet, and I was so excited that I just needed to start something right away. I just picked up some needles and started winging it, eventually it turned into a shrug.

And just for fun, I've also started counting how many stitches I knit, this piece is the first one I started counting on, and it was just above 27,000 stitches.


The pattern is incredibly simple, it's knit on straights in one big rectangle, and the sleeves are seamed.

Stitch Pattern:

Multiple of 15 sts.
Row 1: k2, p1, *yo, p3tog, yo, p1, k1, p1* yo, p3tog, yo, p1, k2
Row 2: k1, p1, k1, *p3, k1, p1, k1*
Row 3: k2, p1, *k3, p1, k1, p1* k3, p1, k2
Row 4: repeat row 2
Repeat rows 1-4 until piece measures 58 inches, bind off.

Anyhee, my natural hair colour and length is like so:



Long (mid-back) and dark.

But, I usually wear wigs that I make, I have a ton but I'll just show these two



Just purple/black and some purple ribbon



Probably the one I wear the most, blue roving, and sparkly red yarn. I've since added some sparkly gimp and some skipping rope, which I found in my neophews closet and begged him to have it.

Watermelonish because they're pink/green/black.

I just completed these sneakers and am contemplating on adding a stencil on the outside of the shoe because that side is very green but then I thought they're already so very colourful so I should just leave it.
The colours are a little screwy, (the top looks red, but is actually a bright pink) and the shoelaces don't match but I'm going to dye them later this was just the closet colour I could find at the moment.
