1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: i love my new button maker! on: October 14, 2005 12:54:23 AM
Sorry to revive an old post, but could anyone tell me if perhaps this is the same as the B Stylin' (such an embarrassing name...) here in the U.S.  And also, did any of the normal generic refills on ebay work for your machine?

I had managed to talk myself out of buying one, but I saw your post and decided I need one ASAP!!!!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: my first bags-take a peek on: September 11, 2005 03:15:26 PM
Those are good (regardless of whether or not they're your first bags)!  I'm still too wimpy to try :-/  I'm a horrible seamstress in general, but I suppose I'll never get better if I don't "practice!"  I love the second one too.

The character on your bag is what's called the "traditional" version of the character.
In the past few decades, mainland China has started writing Chinese using a simplified version.  Basically omits some "parts" of the characters to simplify things a bit.
The characters above all stand for "love," but what I find ironic is that the part missing in the simplified version is the character for "heart."  I have to admit I'm partial towards the traditional form, though, since that's what I grew up learning.  (plus i think in general, the characters are much prettier and whatnot).

Smiley Just thought I'd add my knowledge.
