I haven't posted in a while on account of summer courses and work, but i've been sewing!
so here are 3 new dresses Smiley
1) Shiny black formal dress, which i can wear under a jacket for business-y occasions
The front

The back

The front pleat detail

the slit

2) same pattern as the first, but wider shoulders and no zipper or slit, super stretchy fabric:P
The front

The back

the front pleat detail, but the pleats don't really work with the stretch in the fabric :\

3) This is a dress based off of an orange dress i've posted here before, but this one has a very full skirt. i haven't decided what to do about a belt yet, but here are my options
The Front, with a fabric belt (yes my face looks funny, but the dress looks good so i don't mind Tongue)

The Back

the front, with black waist belt)

wooooo~~

That's it for today, comments and criticisms very welcome Smiley

thanks everyone:)

the pattern was simplicity 2917, but i had to take in around 4 inches of width because it was so huge on me:S i guess the dress is supposed to be very roomy:P hence the center back seam that originally shouldn't be there Smiley

Hi everyone! I am very exited to share my new dress with you Tongue
it all started when our local fabricland had its going out of business sale, my mom and i stocked up on fabric and this beauty was one of them Smiley its a very bright orange with lighter orange circles on it that seem like they were bleached into the fabric. the bodice was based on a princess seamed dress pattern that i cut off at the waist with a gathered skirt and a shirt-dress buttoned front. i was so glad i found buttons that matched the exact shade!
also, i had some fun with my lily and the rare warm sunny day Smiley (it snowed a night ago!!!)
here it is:)
