Just when I thought these jeans were destined for the thrift store...
I came across this challenge and decided that a jean apron/tool belt would be just what I needed!
So instead of going to the thrift store, this pair of jeans went into my living room, where with a pair of scissors some seam tape, a needle and thread (gosh, demin is tough to hand sew) and some red cherry print fabric, I made the jean apron that you see here!
I left the waist belt on the jeans along with the belt loops, and then the cherry fabric ties in the back as well. I also cut the legs straight across and had to cut and tack down the first inch and a half of the butt seam to get the front of the apron to lie flat
I came up with the apron idea on my own, but I did a little bit of searching after I was finished, and discovered that at least one person on craftster and the people at Readymade magazine had the same idea...so I guess it's a not-so-original original idea...but you know what they say about great minds
Thanks for looking!
