4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Engagement Party Gift Help on: September 03, 2005 07:09:39 PM
A friend of mine who I haven't seen in a very long time called me the other day to tell me she's getting married next year. In October she is having an engagement party so all of the friends can get together and meet her fiance. What kind of a gift could I make for her? I was thinking of doing a wedding survival kit but I also want to give her something else.

Your scrapbook is so beautiful. It is a loving tribute to a person who, seems to me, meant the world to you. I am very sorry for your loss.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: School survival kit present for friend. on: August 20, 2005 06:39:25 PM
I think it is great that you are helping out your friend  Grin

When i first read your post i thought of the simple school things pens, pencils but a really great idea would be to decoupage a notebook for her. You could get a couple notebooks cheap and then decoupage different things on to it. Her favorite things, maybe a picture of the both of you together, some quotes of inspiration.
( my favorite quote sites are http://motivationalinspirationalquotes.com/ and http://www.lovepoemsandquotes.com/FriendshipPoemsAndInspirationalQuotes.html )

Another cute and cheap idea is to make a little school survival kit. You would put things in it like Tissues - to wipe your eyes after sleeping during class, and cute things like that. There are some great ideas at this website http://www.craftygardener.ca/survivalkits6.html, scroll down the page a bit to get to the student survival kits. You could also do a search with any search engine with the keywords student survival kit and it should bring up lots of ideas. Also don't forget to throw in some candy that's always fun to receive and even share at her new school as she makes new friends!  Hope this helped!!! Good luck!!!!! Cheesy

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: returning hubby on: August 18, 2005 11:11:18 PM
All the ideas you have gotten so far are great. I have a good friend stationed in Iraq and the one thing he always tells me is he misses all of the simple things in life. I am sure that is why your hubby would rather have a home cooked meal than go out. I just say put things in the box that are simple and from the heart and mean something to both him and you! Even just a simple letter telling him how much you love him would be appreciated. Good Luck!!  Grin
