1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / pendant lamp re-vamp with tutorial on: February 26, 2004 05:41:17 PM
I've had two of these dingy Target paper lanterns for years

and decided that they needed a serious makeover:
all that I really kept are the cords and lampshade rings.  I made the new shades out of plasticore.  it's actually a fairly easy project, and I took a bunch of photos to serve as instructions, if anyone is interested...
2  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / raw vegan recipes on: February 25, 2004 02:44:53 PM
I was wondering if anyone has any good raw vegan recipes?  I have Juliano's book RAW, and while I do love many of the recipes, they're just so darned complicated and take so long to prepare... any recomendations?
3  New York / New York: West / Western NY, B-lo connection on: February 18, 2004 07:52:58 PM
Okay, so there has to be someone else here from the WNY/Buffalo area interested in excahanging ideas/materials, right?
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / basmati rice bag on: February 16, 2004 06:34:19 PM
this is pretty much a no brainer, but I didn't see any others posted... so here's a little bookbag that I made out of a leftover burlap rice bag.

all that I did was sew in a liner and add a little notepad and pencil pocket on the inside.
(yeah, that's all... this was my first sewing project ever and it took a few attempts before getting it right!)  I'm not sure what to do with it now, maybe I'll fill it with magazines and give it to my friend for her birthday... any suggestions?
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / nifty little art project on: February 12, 2004 04:18:03 PM
hi all,

here's a little piece that I made a while ago (another school project) but a real conversation piece that's fairly easy to replicate.

there's a bit of direction on the project at:

I also made up a set of visual instructions that were a part of the whole package, but I can't seem to find them now... I'll keep you posted!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / cardboard chair on: February 11, 2004 05:56:54 PM
let me just start by saying that craftster rocks!!!  I don't know how I managed to drudge through life before finding this snappy little collective!

I can't wait to start sharing my projects, but it seems like I have  a little technology endeavor to set out upon first.... in the meantime, check out the cardboard chair that I designed and built few years ago:
