YKYCW... you comb and collect your cat's fur with visions of spinning the greatest orange yarn ever.

"Here kitty kitty, mommy needs a new hat."

I felted my cats hair once...it was acually cool, but I threw it out because the thought was kinda nasty.

I'll top that. YKYACW...You find a knitting needle in your fridge.....and no one in your house uses that needle....(the round kind...they mess with my brain)
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: how do you let a muggle down nicely when they ask you to knit something? on: June 29, 2007 04:48:51 PM
I don't usually have much trouble with folks asking me to knit them stuff other than the odd joker who thinks I haven't heard it before.  Roll Eyes  But just a few weeks ago the weirdest thing happened.  I was stopped by a guy asking for money.  Not unusual, well except for the part about him asking for exactly $4, that was slightly odd and he wasn't getting it anyway on my 'poor' day (right before pay day).  I told him I was sure I didn't have that much change but that he could have whatever change I had, it took me ages to find my purse in my giant craft bag.  In this time he was checking out the scarf I was wearing and said he liked it very much.  This was nice I thought, and made me feel better about getting my purse out while standing next to a complete stranger (which I am sad to report has always made me feel nervous, after which always comes a feeling of guilt at having been so cynical about strangers Embarrassed).  So anyhow, what I ended up giving him probably added up to a little less than 2 bucks, at which point he asked me if I would knit him a scarf.   Shocked  I'll pay you for it of course, he says, and proffered his mobile phone number so I could let him know when it was done.   Huh  WTF!?  I really had no idea what on earth to say, my standard replies weren't going to cut it here as the whole situation was so illogicall.

I would be a little confused too! He's asking for money, but can pay you for a scarf and has a mobile phone?

I created an Etsy account a little while back but haven't listed any items yet.  Does it always take a few days for the listing to appear, and is there really that much downtime?

Usually the items come up right away, that was just a glitch. There really isn't that much dontime at all. And when there is, its only a few minutes at a time.

Congrats to hollyg/kiwicuties for making it onto the front page again!

I getting pictures of more items, so I may be listing 1 or 2 today...I hope.

You go into Michaels craft store looking for the felt and and wind up helping 5 people find what they need. Then the lady behind the desk asks you if you want to apply for a job there because "None of the other youngsters know where stuff is!"

YKYACW...You wish you did have a job there!

I agree, but there are alot of positives. The forums are usually quite nice. Just because a few people are rude, doesn't mean they all are. I do agree with the pay more view less thing. It just pisses me off really. I set up my shop, get ready and my listing costs 2 times as much? Less time really sucks, because people usually wait a while longer, especially for those selling seasonal things.......
