1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / my first jewelry attempts! on: June 24, 2007 04:26:20 PM
Hello all,

Below are my first attempts at jewelry making. The earrings, anklet and necklace are made entirely of sterling silver. The beads are glass turquoise, glass crystal, and freshwater pearl. I'm pleased with how they turned out; I started simple. Any comments/suggestions appreciated! Thank you. Smiley

PS > sorry the 2nd pic in particular is fuzzy, I'm working on my photography techniques!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Raphael pillow on: March 28, 2006 01:31:48 PM
So this is a gift for my pseudo-boyfriend. He insists Raphael is the best Ninja Turtle, so I made him this pillow for his bed. I drew the design/colored it and then used an iron to get up the extra wax; the red parts are red fleece that are extra soft. It's about 9"x8".

Thanks!

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sir Didymus pouch! on: March 22, 2006 08:01:16 AM
For all those out there who know and love "Labyrinth," you'll get this. It was/is one of my favorite childhood movies, and I just recently exposed this guy I like to the wonders of David Bowie's 1986 musical and theatrical prowess. His favorite character was Sir Didymus, so I decided to make him a Sir Didymus pouch (God knows what he'll use it for). I drew the outline on the fabric with a Sharpie, then colored it in with crayons, and used the iron/paper technique to get up the extra wax. Voila!

Thanks, guys and gals Smiley
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / archos gmini cozy? on: February 14, 2006 02:03:17 PM
Hello all,

I'm about to buy my first mp3 player (hello 21st century!) but it's not an ipod - it's going to be an Archos XS 100 gmini, as seen here. I want to make a case for it, but I'm not sure what would be best. It's super tiny, so maybe vinyl windows wouldn't be the best idea - anyone have this particular mp3 player and made a case for it? Any creative ideas? I've never made an mp3 cozy before!

Thanks,
Kat

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / ecrater.com on: January 23, 2006 02:54:12 PM
So I was searching for etsy alternatives and I came across this website - it almost seems too good to be true. Completely free, and looks great - anyone used it or heard anything good/bad about it?

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / lime green cell phone/ipod pouch on: January 22, 2006 05:38:41 PM
I just finished this tonight. It measures 3 1/2" w by 4" tall, and now my  hand is very cramped. Sad

Can be used for cell phones, cameras, ipods, or just spare change!

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / "in bloom" scarf on: January 22, 2006 08:34:00 AM
Hello all,

I've compelted my first sizeable crochet project in a while. It's a belated Xmas gift for my roommate, Gwen (Pengwend). I haven't figured out how to make flickr.com images appear here, so please be so kind as to see the link below.

Thanks! Smiley

10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Regina the Racoon on: January 19, 2006 07:01:20 PM
Hello all!

I've only posted like, once, but is my first "project" post - please be gentle, I'm a beginner Smiley My roommate is Pengwend of "fefelants" fame (they're amazing, are they not?), and she sort of inspired me to make a little critter of my own. Using one of those super cool Japanese craft books, I created Regina the Racoon. She's pleased to meet you, and is destined to hang from my rearview mirror!

Thanks, guys!
