Check out sewforum.com.  I think you will find what you are looking for there.  Best wishes!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Knitted-Look Headband w/ Flower (and pattern) on: November 01, 2011 08:36:53 AM
inez, thanks for sharing your creation.  Truly great minds must think alike.  (And it's a little freaky, too.)  I am certainly not trying to take away from your beautiful creation, but this was so coincidental and bizarre that I had to share.

I have never been able to master knitting, and I prefer the knitted look of a calorimetry/headband/earwarmer.  Wanting to make one for my teenage daughter and after unsuccessfully searching online for a pattern, I decided to create my own this past weekend.

The premise of my pattern is exactly the same, but I used a larger hook (therefore fewer beginning chains and number of rows), and I decreased a bit differently (one at a time versus two).  Other than that, there isn't much difference.

If any of you tries this pattern, I emphasize the blocking step.  My sample wanted to curl inward until it was steamed flat.

My flower is from this pattern:  http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60020.html

Here are a few pics of mine.  Please disregard the model.  She is having a bad-hair day.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Shirred Dress Addiction on: August 06, 2011 01:48:38 PM
Pretty little girl with a pretty little dress.  Adorable.  I made my first shirred project today, and I found your post when I was nosey to see shirred projects here.  I only wish I had tried years ago when my daughter was the same age as yours.

I'm not a Lady Gaga fan, and I would never wear this bra, but IT IS SO COOL!  You were amazingly creative in figuring out how to put one together.  I'm clicking THIS ROCKS!
