13  Re: **Pretty Pincushion Swap gallery** in The Swap Gallery by jennyleigh on: July 21, 2008 10:20:32 AM
Received today from sixblueirises.  What a treat!  I received two pincushions.  One is a biscornu, which I learned has to do with the irregular shape.  The photo doesn't do justice to the lovely needlework she added which is a daffodil motif.  I will soon have a new craft room in the basement, and the walls are a buttercream yellow.  This will look great there.

The second pincushion is a traditional strawberry made from a vintage handkerchief.  I collect vintage hankies and linens, so this is special.

Thanks, sixblueirises.  I love both pincushions!

15  Sneaker Slippers in Crochet: Completed Projects by jennyleigh on: March 12, 2008 07:29:19 PM
I recently made these for the slipper swap.  My partner, DisneyFan, is also a runner.  I found this pattern and thought it would be fun to make them.  I will admit, it was a bit of a challenge.  I don't concentrate as well as I once did, and there is A LOT of counting in this pattern.  (In case you're wondering, they're stuffed with tissue paper to help maintain their shape during shipping.)

16  Some notecards for swap (includes iris folding) in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by jennyleigh on: March 12, 2008 07:24:35 PM
Here are some notecards I made to include as extras in the slipper swap.  I recently discovered how to iris fold, so I was excited to exercise this new skill.  The most difficult part of iris folding (for me) is selecting the papers.  I am the world's worst decision maker!

On this past Thursday I received a wonderful package from DisneyFan.  She crocheted two beautiful pairs of slippers -- one pair of Mary Janes, and another pair of footies.  The work is beautiful.  She also sent a crocheted lip balm cozy/key ring, lip balm, a book and a crocheted bookmark.  I love everything.  Thanks so much DisneyFan!

And whoever commented that it is difficult to photograph your own feet is absolutely right!

18  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by jennyleigh on: November 30, 2007 12:10:46 PM
As she predicted, my package from Puppy_girl arrived today, and I was in the midst of taking pics when I saw her previous post.

I love everything she sent.  It is apparent she did her homework.  I am not an easy person to stalk, as my wist was just created for this swap.

On to the pics!

The just opened package with the resident nosey butt offering his assistance:

After removing the stocking and card from the top -- all the wrapped goodies inside (again, our creature granting his permission for me to snap a photo):

My stocking.  I think it's amazing we both did patchwork and used white fur for the cuff!  Funny!

A scrapbooking apron complete with scissors holsters on each side.

A lovely crocheted bag.  It's a scream that we each made a crocheted bag for the swap!

A hot/cold pack.  Isn't it cute?  The mouth has an opening to remove the pillow so the case can be laundered.  Love it!

A tin of peanut butter/chocolate thumbprint cookies.  Peanut butter and chocolate is my absolute favorite food combo.  I am going to be nice and save them to share with my dh and dd, but I will likely be sorry.  My dh says he's never met a cookie he didn't like!

Finally, scrapbook stickers, brads, gel pens and a plant your own hyacinth kit.  I love the smell of hyacinths, and I am going to do this right away!

Thanks Puppy_girl!  You were an excellent swap partner!

19  Re: Rheatheylia's divine hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by jennyleigh on: November 30, 2007 07:09:59 AM
Your hat is lovely in that color.  I also made this hat for a recent swap.  Here is my finished product:

I can't figure out what I did, but my swirls go the opposite direction.  I'm going to make another very soon, and maybe I can figure out where I went astray.

This was a fun pattern, and I highly recommend it.

I made Puppy_girl's hat from this pattern:

http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=0

The link was originally posted on craftster, but it was easier for me to find the actual site to give you, as I had it bookmarked.  It was a very easy pattern to follow, and the creator has some other cute things in her project list.  I intend to try her cable hat next.

I took pics of everything before mailing, so to save Puppy the trouble of taking another picture of the stocking, I'll post it for her:
