1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Jace's new jumper on: October 10, 2011 05:26:07 AM

Nothing special but the first thing I have completed in ages Grin The pattern is Candlestick. It's a lovely pattern and very easy and quick to knit, although the 18m size just fits him and he only turned 1 yesterday Smiley
2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / World Book Day on: March 04, 2011 02:36:17 AM
Has anyone else been making costumes for World book Day this year? My son went as the cat in the hat. It was a lot of fun to make but I wish I hadn't left it 'til the last minute Undecided

I used Mama Lusco's tutorial to make the hat except I topstitched either side of the stripes to give it a more solid, finished look and used extra thick felt for the brim. Sorry about the blur, my phone camera doesn't have a flash and it's impossible to get him to stand still for 5 seconds lol.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / blue armwarmers on: March 06, 2006 11:58:25 AM
I made these tonight and wanted your opinions...

I was inspired by Backspace's furry fingerless gloves. They took about 10 mins to make and cost 1.50 Smiley Gotta love it!

BTW excuse the stain on my jeans, my 20mth old decided to catapult his yogurt at me Angry hehe.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / deadly coffee cozy on: February 26, 2006 10:19:52 PM
Hi everyone Smiley I knit this coffee cup cozy this weekend and it made me realise I suck at intarsia. Does anybody have any tips for me?

I carried the yarn along for the eyes/nose/teeth, and it ended up kinda bumpy Sad Do you think I should get rid of the roll-top and bottom next time I try this? Perhaps just make it a snug fit, or with a garter stitch/seed stitch border? Would it look better felted?

Any input is greatly appreciated Grin

p.s. I borrowed the skull chart from Helloyarn's felted skull tote.
p.p.s. Would an espresso cup cozy be pointless OR too cute.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / <3 coin purse on: February 21, 2006 04:20:41 AM
Not very exciting but I made this coin purse last week.

Please excuse the blurry photos, I need a new camera Roll Eyes It's knit up in 100% cotton.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Save it or dump it? on: August 29, 2005 10:17:52 AM
OK, so I never finish anything. I have t-shirts lying around, half-reconstructed, and bags, half-made. Here's a project I started Saturday night/Sunday morning, it's a little difficult to show because my camera is broken and I can't use the timer function. Anyway it's a grey top, lined in white cotton, with a zip up back, sheer black ribbon straps (which you can't really see because of my hair  Undecided ) and a kind of half-cut-out-bottom-half-thingy-mabob Tongue

(Thinking of taking the neckline down an inch or so  Sad )

(I think it needs a slim sash under the bustline to hide my shoddy sewing  Tongue )

(It's not really that crooked, it's just difficult to take a picture of your own back lol)

(Had to scan it to show the lining)

last one I promise. The ribbon straps.

Few notes

This is my 1st clothes project & my 3rd sewing project
No pattern used just trial and error
Sewn by hand  Embarrassed with invisible thread
I originally intended to pleat or gather the bottom bit to give it a flairy look.
The bottom half is still just pinned together (ouch!)
Yes those jeans are a little baggy around my bum lol  Roll Eyes
Cost me about 3 to make Cheesy

Anyway, any comments would be gratefully received Smiley
