1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Swing Coat Pattern? on: March 10, 2007 05:34:32 PM
Hi everyone. I'm loving the new little cropped swing coats that are out there and want to make one for myself. Does anyone know of any patterns for one? I know that Knit and Tonic has one  but its a bit too full/wide for my taste. If you guys know of anything similar I would love to hear about it. Thanks!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Please help!! on: January 25, 2007 06:02:26 PM
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with something. I'm making the Cropped Cardi from Knit 1 and I need some help with the sleeves. The pattern calls for the sleeves to be knit and then sewn onto the sweater. I want to pick up stitches and knit down. Does anyone know of the best way to do this? Will it look ok? Please, please help!!

Thanks!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Done in the nick of time.... on: December 24, 2006 12:25:22 PM
I just finished these last minute christmas presents. I made the Brea puse for my mom. It knit up really fast except for the gusset which took forever. I used 2 balls of Patons Decor in the colour Rich New Rose. It's not as pink in real life as the photo makes it seem, it's more of a cranberry colour. I had just enough to finish sewing it together so I couldn't make the button closure. I'm going to either put a snap closure or zipper on it but I'm going to let my mom decide.

I also made the Child Placket Neck Sweater for my nephew. I made the 1-2 year size which I think turned out a bit small but will still fit the little rugrat. I used some cotton yarn that I've had laying around in my stash for years. It was a pretty quick knit. I decided to leave the buttons off because I don't think that they will end up being done up anyways. Sorry for the blurry pic but it was the best I could get with my craptastic digi.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Vest Generator on: October 11, 2006 07:59:18 PM
Hi everyone.

I am trying to find an online vest generator. I want to make a pullover vest for my son. I just finished a sweater for myself and now he wants me to make him something. If anybody has seen one that includes sizing for children (he's four) could you please let me know?

Thanks a ton.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Yarn weight calculator? on: September 18, 2006 08:48:42 PM
Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone has seen something like this. I swear that I've seen something that tells you what weight (like worsted or bulky) of yarn you are using if you can't remeber or if its from a recylced sweater. I think that it was a wooden rod or maybe a ruler. It has measurements on it in inches. You wind your yarn around it and depending how many winds you get per inch tells you the weight of the yarn. I've tried to a search but haven't come up with anything yet. Please let me know if you have seen anything like this and where I can get it. Thanks a bunch!!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help with Angelica sweater on: April 01, 2006 05:29:21 PM
I'm working on the Angelica sweater and I have gotten to the body shaping but I am confused by this "Knit to 2nd marker, knit 15 (17, 19), ssk, k2tog, k 22 (26, 30), ssk, k2tog, k to end of round". I"m finding that the shaping is looking like this // on the front and back and not like this \ /. Has anyone else run into this problem? I've checked out the Angelica along but there is no mention of this happening to anyone else. Please help!!!!

Thanks a bunch.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Come see the pretty things I made...Pretty Please? Edited to add new project. on: January 22, 2006 03:55:57 PM
Hi everyone. This is my first post of some of my completed project. I really had lots of fun making these.

First up is the Anthro Capelet. I totally loved this!!! I used seed stich instead of ribbing and actually picked up and knitted the border.

And the circular shrug. Which I just realized that I need to seam just a little bit more. For the back I did eyelets instead of the mock rib.

And last is the ballet shirt from Loop-d-Loop. I really like it but I think I'm going to frog back a bit and do some more decreases. Its just a little bit too wide for me. And mabe make it longer too.

Any suggestions that you guys have would be very welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Oh and I totally forgot until my sister mentioned on here that I forgot this. And this on is my favorite. Its the Jiffy Tube Top off of Craftster.

and a close up of the xoxo cable. This was my first cable attempt. It really is easy.
