2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting needles: Circular or straight? on: January 17, 2009 07:53:01 PM
I am a total NOOB when it comes to knitting as I usually crochet. I have some straight needles from when I learned to knit when I was a kid. I want to make a hat. Like this.http://tiajudy.com/ribcaps.htm
I'm confused as to which needles I would be using. Would I be using straight or circular needles? I didn't even know there were circular needles until I started looking into knitting again. I always see people with straight needles going unbelievably fast. Any help is much appreciated. Smiley
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: problem with rows getting shorter on: October 02, 2008 06:20:55 PM
Thanks everyone! Smiley I get it now. Yes, I meant 21. I was thinking of the 23 chain. I am chaining two before turning. I thought it meant don't hdc in the first stitch after turning, so I was skipping that. I thought it was strange to skip that every time. hehe

I'm using hdc from this pattern I'm following. http://happyyellowhouse.com/htm/colorblock.html
It says to skip the first hdc.

I really like Alex's hat here. http://dcfans.tv/gallery/image.php?pic=18&show=wowp&ep=12
How would I make that? Is that crocheted? What stitch do you think it is?
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Questions About Hairstyles! on: September 14, 2008 09:29:31 AM
Thanks for the reply, sapphire. I was thinking of dying it red, hot pink, or purple. Is the quick blue bleach powder an off the scalp bleach? That sounds scary. Do you think an on the scalp bleach that I keep off my scalp would lighten my hair? I have Joico KPak from when I used to relax my hair. I already only shampoo my hair once a week. I'm a modified curly girl.  Smiley Thanks so much. Now let's see if I can get up the guts to do this.

I've been wanting to dye my hair a rainbow color (not an entire rainbow just a fun color) for a long time. Can someone tell me how to do it so that my hair isn't wrecked? My hair looks very similar to this http://naturalhairphotos.com/details.php?image_id=201
I need step by step instructions, please. What to buy? Where to buy it? Basically hair dying for dummies?  Smiley
