This is awesome.
I love the look of a traditional type fabric like houndstooth with a non-traditional cut...it's modern and classic at the same time.
Sometimes mistakes are the best things to happen to a well meaning plan.  Tongue
Nice job!
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Damnit Jerry, I wanna be a sailor too! on: April 27, 2007 09:28:30 PM
So...here's the story. I picked up this horrible short and shirt set from value village, because I wanted to use the shorts for a sculpture project earlier this year. It's a woman's XL, it's large, boxy, and something you might see an overweight grandma sporting in the summer with some oversized raybans. So, I've had the shirt kicking around for a while, and I knew I wanted to do *something* with it...because the fabric is pretty great. Blue and white stripped seersucker...can't go wrong. So, I teamed it up with some white fabric I had laying around and made my ode to sailor pin-up complete with machine embroidered stars. I'm pleased. Smiley

Here's the fat-grandma before:

And the sailor-girl after:

Oooh! Some side action:

The back:

It brings out the tart in me...I just can't help it...lol.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
