1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / HELP! What should I do to make this dress better for my wedding? on: November 25, 2006 01:10:23 PM

So I bought this white dress off of ebay.  There is flimsy tulle at the bottom of the dress and it goes to right under my knees.  I would love to embellish this dress if I have time.  Any ideas?
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding gifts? on: November 23, 2006 05:08:23 PM
So yep, I really wanna do something nice for the closest people in my life when I get married.

Those people include: my sister, my best friend (known her for 8 years), and my soon-to-be husband.

I'm not quite sure what I wanna do, but I'm thinking I will go to a spa for a massage with my sister the day before.  I am clueless when it comes to my bet friend- she loves DDR, cosplay stuffs, Harry Potter, and she's an art teacher so yeah she's totally creative (in fact, for Christmas every year we draw each other pictures as gifts).  My fiance, well, he's a computer programmer, but I want to do something romantic and not just "geeky."

Ideas!?
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Need help with wedding tiara! on: November 19, 2006 07:44:01 AM
So I have always ADORED The Neverending Story.  Does everyone remember the Childlike Empress' tiara?  It was fantastic, and I really would LOVE to make it for my ceremony on the 21 December.  Can anyone help me with advice?!

Here is a photo of the Empress:

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Christmas-themed marriage afterparty invites? on: November 19, 2006 07:40:19 AM
So, we are having a ceremony at the county clerk's office.  Then, afterwards, we are having a Christmas-themed get-together at my parents' house- about 40 folks will be there.  Any fun ideas for favours, decourations, invitations even!?

I should note that it's coming up really quick here- 21 December!

5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What to do with Starbucks cards? on: October 25, 2006 06:38:26 PM
So, over the two years that I've worked for Starbucks, I've collected a bunch of cards (unique or usual).  I would like to do something nice and artsy with these cards, but frankly, I'm at a loss.  What is something I can make with these cards that will help me remember all the amazing and wonderful times/people at my work?
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tote Bag into MY PERSONAL CANVAS. on: July 27, 2006 11:15:39 PM
So I guess the detail is poor in this photo, but I can try to get a detail photo later.  Should I paint this or leave it alone?

9  COOKING / Dessert / DELICIOUS CAKE!!!! :3 [Image Heavy- please wait!! :( ] on: October 09, 2005 11:07:41 AM
So, my friend from work and I decided that we should make a big delicious cake.  A bake-off in all senses of the word.   Cheesy

With no further delays, my friends....here is the CAKE:

In the very beginning, getting its first coat.

As you can tell, I am a true Starbucks barista- I used my own recipe at the Starbucks I work at to get FREE chocolate mousse!  (If you ever wanna freak out your local Starbucks baristas, tell them to make you a venti 3 pump mocha, two pump sugar-free vanilla, up-to-the-second-line heavy whipping cream three times blended in the blender with no ice.  You'll get a nice thick chocolate mousse, and a very weirded-out barista.)

Here is Alli and the cake again.  Mmmmmmmm.

Another beautiful aerial shot of our masterpiece.

Here's an inside view (though quite blurry) of the cake.  Note the marbly mousse-y goodness.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My first post here! A cute criss-cross shirt. ;) on: August 26, 2005 12:10:40 PM
It took me awhile because I am just now getting back into sewing.  It's not perfect, but it's still pretty cute.  I'm making a skirt to go with it.  Smiley
