11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / wedding advice needed!!! on: January 05, 2006 12:23:07 AM
ok, so i'm getting married...  but not for like 2 years. but i want to be completely prepared. my fiance and i are both college students (both 2nd year), and i'm not really sure if it's better to wait until after graduation, or just do it in october of our senior year (which is what i have my heart set on). i don't know anyone else in my situation, really. all of my friends are single/not married. so here are some questions. if any married craftsters could help me out i would be so greatful!

1. is it difficult planning a wedding/being married while finishing college (i'm pre-med, so by senior year i'll be pretty set in where i'm going to med school, classes aren't so intense, etc.)?
2. when should i start planning? is one year enough time?
3. i am not so fond of sit-down, formal receptions. is having a cocktail party with fabulous fancy hors d'oeuvres and an open bar good? i know that's what i would prefer. i just don't want my family to be disappointed. the wedding is going to be 1920's themed, so i thought that super fancy hors d'oeuvres would be fitting.

i would talk to my mom about all this, but she's sort of still a little sad about losing her first daughter! i just have so many questions! if anyone is willing to offer up some words of wisdom, i would be so happy!
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / ugly brown cardigan into cute bolero! on: December 20, 2005 11:40:42 PM
i've had this oversized ugly long-sleeve brown cardigan since i was in 10th grade, and i'm currently a sophmore in college. and i think that i've worn it once. soooooo i was inspired by all of the revamped boleros posted and decided to make one myself! the only thing i don't like about it, and i was stupid for not thinking about this first, is that i used black thread. i think the final product would be a lot better if i had used white. oh well. i made it for my mom, and i'm sure she'll love it. criticism and comments welcome!

thanks for checking it out!
