I haven't read through the thread, I'm going to try to find the recipe, but heres a few ideas...
I LOVE firm tofu for the most part, I haven't tried making anything without it, and can't afford restaurants at the moment, so I can't help you otherwise but I take firm tofu and cut it into cubes, put a little oil in a frying pan or on a baking sheet and broil in the oven, or pan fry.. it's good for those who haven't necessarily tried it before to have it a litle crispy..
I then make a spicy peanut sauce, fry some veggies and add a few noodles and fry the noodles and add everything. soo good..
the recipe I will try and find is something like 1/3 c soy sauce, a couple tablespoons of peanut butter, sugar, salt,etc.. i'll try and find the real recipe but it's like peanut bbq sauce or something.. you take the big square of tofu and cut it into thick slices.. put it on the pan and pour the semi-thick sauce over it and broil it.. sooooo good.. just make some basmati rice.. and i usually make red lentil dahl with it.. soo good!
ok if that doesn't make sense i i will add the recipe if i can find it tomorrow!
If you know anyone with a printing press or a newspaper, they probably have either an electric punch, or a heavy duty hand punch..
We sell hand-made journals and we use the hand punch, the electrical ones are nice, but we don't have one, so we punch all holes by hand, but the strength of the hand punch makes it still look really clean if you keep it well waxed.. if you make it and it looks messy, a good way to cover it up is to bind it with wide ribbon instead of binding, etc. and it somewhat covers messy holes.
I know a great designer in Toronto who started out being just a gal who cut up her old sweaters.. http://www.susanharrisdesign.ca/ now she makes a mint, and still does all her own work.. awesome stuff..theres not much on the site though
Hey Mine will be going out on Monday too! I got some packaging today at my dads office but i am not allowed to send anything on the weekend(not only does stuff not go out on the weekends, but the post office isnt even open! grrrrr)
i lovvvvvvvvvvvve this dress for a bridesmaid diress(maybe minus the ring/circle thing in the middle) but in that brown with lime/pear green in place of the pink.. in linen..(or a rust orange colour)
Planning a fall wedding, hopefully outdoors, and i want an off-white/ivory long linen plain dress.. maybe with a colourfull shawl for when ceremony is not on..
wedding is far off(don't even have a ring yet as i proposed to him! hehe but he still wants to do the ring,etc..) and i have school still.. so a year or two.. probably two, because if we do it next fall, we will have to start planning like.. NOW! plus we don't want to deal with everyone(hardly anyone has met him, and in my family that is a big deal...and it's only been a year now)
I forgot to check the "unread replies" button and have been crazy busy with school this week, but I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT! soo much.. Once my money comes in(was supposed to be in last week, they say this week for sure" ha!) I am going to start on it.. ps- and being a complete idiot, this is like the most understandable pattern EVER!
I'm FREAKING OUT because my evil student loan money has decided to take an extra week to get here?!! So now not only do I not have money to get to school,(i commute and due to surgery recovery i have not been working) but MORE importantly.. I don't have wht i wanted for my swap! but it's coming, i promise miss_cute_boots!
