1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / purple halter top! on: May 24, 2007 04:42:06 PM
here's a halter top i designed from berocco echo, this weird cotton-ribbon yarn that was discontinued:

and the back:

sorry for the blurry pics, but you get the idea.  thanks for looking!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / bleach-stained t-shirt --> sexy halter! on: May 20, 2007 11:05:24 AM
my (now-ex) boyfriend had this awesome t-shirt that he couldn't wear anymore because one of our friends sprayed bleach on him (yes, there may have been alcohol involved  Wink).  so he gave it to me and said, "maybe you can make something cool out of it."

(in case anyone's curious, the design is a skull with a fleur-de-lis on its forehead and the words "louisville kentucky" around it)  i pretty much just followed the guidelines in "generation T" for the halter top on the cover, but i hiked it up some so my boobs wouldn't fall out.

there's the back.  i haven't done much hand-sewing, so i was pretty pleased with how it came out.  thanks for looking!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / badass boxer shorts on: March 19, 2006 07:56:45 PM
for the bad ass in your life:

my boyfriend requested a pair of knitted boxer shorts for his birthday, so this is what i came up with (that's me modeling them, not him!).  i couldn't find a suitable pattern so i made one up.  i used one skein each of four manly colors of plymouth encore worsted.  they're super comfy -- i haven't taken them off since i took the pictures!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / a little hat on: December 13, 2005 08:02:06 PM
my friend beth's birthday is today, so i whipped her up a hat out of lion brand landscapes.  here i am modeling it and looking very sinister.  apologies for the extreme overexposedness.

i pretty much followed the pattern for "jeff's striped hat" in the yarn girls' guide to simple knits, minus the stripes of course.  i also did an extra decrease row at the crown.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / ballerina scarf on: October 24, 2005 09:22:15 PM
i finished this a while ago, but i'm just now getting around to photographing it.

i basically followed the pattern in knitwits.  i used five yards of tulle that i cut into strips, knotted together, and knitted.  the fringe is tulle, satin ribbon, and seam binding.

hee hee, i was scrunching down because i thought it was going to cut my head off.  i didn't realize how much midriff action i had going on... hope nobody was blinded.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / bloom shawl on: October 09, 2005 04:50:00 PM
i tried to start a knitalong for this one but i finished it before anyone else joined!  so here's the FO:

the pattern is from the fall issue of knitty.  i used five skeins of noro blossom in color 11.  i don't know if you can tell from the picture, but it's actually a circular shape, which is a nice change from the triangular shawls you usually see.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / hero worship top on: October 06, 2005 09:07:10 PM
i just now got a digital camera so i can finally post pictures!  yay!

yep, that's a golf club i'm holding.  we didn't have any swords lying around the house.  here's a more normal pose:

here's the link for the pattern:http://www.magknits.com/warm04/patterns/tricot.htm

i used four skeins of cotton ease in pineapple and one skein of brown sheep cotton fleece in cavern.
