2  bleach-stained t-shirt --> sexy halter! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by thisonegoesupto11 on: May 20, 2007 11:05:24 AM
my (now-ex) boyfriend had this awesome t-shirt that he couldn't wear anymore because one of our friends sprayed bleach on him (yes, there may have been alcohol involved  Wink).  so he gave it to me and said, "maybe you can make something cool out of it."

(in case anyone's curious, the design is a skull with a fleur-de-lis on its forehead and the words "louisville kentucky" around it)  i pretty much just followed the guidelines in "generation T" for the halter top on the cover, but i hiked it up some so my boobs wouldn't fall out.

there's the back.  i haven't done much hand-sewing, so i was pretty pleased with how it came out.  thanks for looking!

7  Re: FO - "Daisy" Baby Cardigan from Knitty! in Knitting: Completed Projects by thisonegoesupto11 on: April 08, 2006 08:08:05 AM
not to hijack your thread, but i just finished the snake-charmer version myself:

i used takhi cotton classic for the sweater and acrylic scrap yarn for the snakes.  i don't have any action shots either, as the recipient (my favorite auntie's first baby!) is a couple of thousand miles away.

8  badass boxer shorts in Knitting: Completed Projects by thisonegoesupto11 on: March 19, 2006 07:56:45 PM
for the bad ass in your life:

my boyfriend requested a pair of knitted boxer shorts for his birthday, so this is what i came up with (that's me modeling them, not him!).  i couldn't find a suitable pattern so i made one up.  i used one skein each of four manly colors of plymouth encore worsted.  they're super comfy -- i haven't taken them off since i took the pictures!

9  Re: New Sweater Time! Hourglass Sweater in Knitting: Completed Projects by thisonegoesupto11 on: January 05, 2006 10:17:16 PM
at long last, it's done!

i used classic elite '03 tweed and waterspun worsted.  as you can see, i ran out of the tweed after i attached the sleeves, so i had to find a substitute yarn to knit the yoke with, but i ended up liking the two-tone version better anyway!  the only other modification i did was to shorten the sleeves, since it's for my mommy and she likes her sleeves a bit shorter.

10  a little hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by thisonegoesupto11 on: December 13, 2005 08:02:06 PM
my friend beth's birthday is today, so i whipped her up a hat out of lion brand landscapes.  here i am modeling it and looking very sinister.  apologies for the extreme overexposedness.

i pretty much followed the pattern for "jeff's striped hat" in the yarn girls' guide to simple knits, minus the stripes of course.  i also did an extra decrease row at the crown.
