Well, I really think that while a lot of the shapes are conservative, the resulting sweaters don't have to be.

A hot pink josephine would be really crazy.

As would a lime green blueberry

Or even adding stripes to a sweater.

I mean, let's face it.  All (wearable) clothing is shaped the same.  What determines whether or not the sweater is "funky" is largely the colours you put on the thing.

very true i didnt even think about it that way....mmmm....now that i think of it this way....maybe some of them could be quiet interesting...let me clearify something though. i am in no way designer bashing. all the patterns are very nice and i in no way dislike any of them...i guess theyre just not for me...but im gonna go back and look at them better and think of ways to make them funky and me...i must say though i am in love with revolution! absolutely in loooooovvvvvveeeee

Ah, see - that's why I LIKE it Smiley I'm not crazy about patterns where people try too hard to make it creative and unique, because they tend to just look...weird. But that's just me. I like this issue because these sweaters are the sort of thing I would totally pick out in a store (I wouldn't wear them JUST because I made them). Obviously it's a personal preference - I'm sure you're not alone, and I'm sure the future issues have many funky things in store for you Smiley

how on earth can one try to hard to be funky...oh well...its not thati dont think the patterns are nice...they are...but thats just it...nice isnt my style...they just seem..kinda...old i guess...with a few exceptions of course...i guess its just cause im so young...oh well...i'll just wait til winter knitty...now when on earth does that come out? im starting to think that i am the only person in the world who is not thrilled with this issue Huh...the patterns are nice and all....but the only one i looooove is revolution...all the others are just kinda...bleh...not something i would knit(but then again im only 16). they just seem to lack the funk that i have come to love from knitty...i am slightly saddened...but hopefully i will like winter better... Undecided
