Yeah, I did notice that detail, which was what made me think that the figure in the middle was part of the original Smiley  Minor glitch...still an awesome montage on the whole Smiley
7352  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Been reading for awhile...finally participating. on: October 03, 2005 09:25:46 PM
Thanks.
The wire was just some plastic coated wire from walmart that I've had lying around for ages.
My mom actually hasn't seen them yet, they're for her birthday which is next week.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to present them?

They're really pretty!  Perhaps you could place them in a clear cookie type jar or glass container.  That way, your mom can display them on a shelf instead of storing them in a drawer or cupboard Smiley

Okay, here's mine.

The exterior shell of the purse:

Close-up of one of the sides of the purse:

The modified strap (since I chose not to use ribbon):

The end result:

This was the first purse I've made using a pattern.  It was frustrating trying to decipher the instructions (was it written in English?!?).  I goofed with my choice of fusible interfacing.  Apparently, stiff interfacing does not necessarily mean felt or fleece interfacing  Roll Eyes  I think I might have to make another attempt with the right interfacing materials...

I used a digital camera and set it up with a tripod. Set on the timer for each shot. Then I used 'Ulead PhotoImpact' and lassoed myself and pasted myself in with another one of the pictures. Then blended it all togeter. It's really easy to do actually.

SolaceInSleep, that rocks Smiley  Love the composition of the picture!  Just out of curiousity...was the figure in the middle part of the original picture (while the figures on the left and the right were pasted)?  Goodgrief...that barely made sense  Roll Eyes  Let me try again.  What I'm trying to ask is which of the two figures were added to the original picture?

That is sweet Smiley  I like your version better too (a matter of personal preference, I suppose...)!  The original is a tad too plain for me.  Good job!

That's absolutely splendid Smiley  I love how the entire piece looks greyscale and the red heart simply grabs your attention and helps you focus on the subject.  Nice!
7359  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Yummy Christmas Treat Recipes Anyone? on: October 02, 2005 04:28:23 PM

This year I'm making vanilla liquer for everyone, and obsene gingerbread cookies!
Check out my blog post about this cute cookbook I got to review: the Cookie Sutra...

answer if kids walk by the computer screen: she's tickling his feet!

Okay, that's freaking hilarious.  I once received Kama Sutra chocolates (yeah, they were pretty graphic...) but these cookies beat those Smiley
