Ok - I need you guys to help me. I've come to a road block with making my Muppet quilt. I can't find any fun fur - or any other fabric for that matter - for Fozzie Bear. He has to be just the right color since he's one of the main characters. The colors I've been finding are either too dark of a brown or too light of a brown. He's an orangy-brown. I bought some fur that was close and tried dying it with some orange and it turned out to be a huge mess! Here's a picture of what he looks like. If anyone can tell me where I can find something in his color - I would be so grateful!
What I'm thinking of immediately amounts to cannibalism
What about dismantling a thrift store stuffed animal? I haven't seen similar colors at the fabric stores, but maybe something more "loved" would match?
As someone who loves her stuffed animals it was hard for me to suggest that, but it's all I can think of
Oh no...don't hurt the stuffies!?! I was thinking that you could get a new piece of fabric and distress it by several wash/dry cycles. Would staining it with a strong tea solution help achieve the color after it has been 'distressed'? I used to make miniature teddy bears and I would stain my fabric pieces with strong tea or coffee.
