Oooh...Skittles!!!  Now that you've mentioned it, I have a serious craving for red skittles (my favourite!) and I don't have any in my pantry *sigh*

kookoosp, I can't believe you'll be done by this weekend  Roll Eyes  Goodgrief...you're fast!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I hope we've all had the chance to contact our partners Smiley

To ease my swap anxiety, I have picked out three fabrics and I'm letting my partner, luciabug select her favourite fabric design.  I reckon at the very least, she'll like the fabric even if she hates the wallet Tongue  After that...no more clues!  Yep, I'm gonna keep everything under wraps till she receives it Wink

Anyhow, things have been pretty quiet around here!  Make some noise...let me know you guys are still out there and working on your swap projects Cheesy

March 03, 2006  ---  DEADLINE FOR 'A 1/2 DOZEN OF FAT QUARTERS TO GO!' SWAP

Most of you have already sent to your partner(s), and a few have indicated that they will send them out today Smiley  For those who have sent but forgot to pm their partners and/or myself (if you have the DCNs, don't forget to include that info!!!), please do that!  If you've not sent out your packages and will be a little late (for valid reasons), please contact myself and your partner(s) sometime today.

Oh, and if you haven't already, check out the lovely fat quarters on display in the swap gallery!  I can't wait to see everything Cheesy

Here's the typical story when I hit the fabric stores.  I buy what's on sale...because it's on sale.  Then I see something that's NOT on sale...but love, love, love it...so I buy it anyway.  Guess what?  It goes on sale the next couple of days.  What's a girl to do?  Yep, you guessed it.  Head back to the store and buy more fabric because it's now on sale Tongue  It's a vicious cycle, I tell ya!!!

qazicat, I guess I'm in good company then Wink  Fortunately, there isn't a 'minimum purchase requirement' at the local fabric store.  In some instances, I've puchased as little as 1/8th of a yard for my projects!  I just received a flyer in the mail about a fabric sale this weekend.  No prizes will be awarded for accurate guesses on how I intend to spend my tax-refund Tongue

Sounds good to me.  I am definitely up for a round 2.

I didn't do much stash busting either.  I only used 4 fat quarters from my own stash.  The rest I bought.  Some of the fabrics were on sale and the minimum purchase was 1 metre.  In the end I will have 29 fat quarters worth of fabric added to my stash.

mmmm lots of pretty fabric.  It's all good.

I loved your idea about using corduroy for baby blankets (yes, I did remember you telling me about that when you sent me a pm), hence the selection of fun corduroy fabrics Smiley  BTW, I have the exact same stash as what I sent to you (since I bought 1/2 yard pieces and split it in half to make fat quarters).  I don't have a clue about what I'll make with them either!  For now, I'm content to stare at the pretty colors and designs Tongue

Goodgrief.  When I decided to go for this swap, I thought I was gonna do some stash-busting.  Okay, I was definitely lying to myself  Roll Eyes  At the end of this swap, I will have acquired 4.5 yards of new fabric (from my wonderful partners!) and another 4.5 yards of fabrics leftover from what I sent out to my partners.  That's 9 yards!  It's all good though Grin

Round 2 of this swap sounds like an awesome idea, and there seems to be quite a few of us that would be keen to do this again!  I'm thinking about starting the signups during the 3rd week of March (mostly because I want to make sure that everyone in the current swap has received their fabrics).  How does that sound?

Ezri_B, I hope you'll have fun with your new stash Grin  I can't figure why I've never noticed all the cool corduroy fabrics at the store!  Perhaps it's due to the fact that I always head for the quilting section and spend all my money there  Roll Eyes

The mittens are lovely!  I think the color combination of sage and pink is just perfect!
