It seems like the schedule I suggested is not gonna work for most folks.  I'm not set on the dates...just trying to get a feel of when to have the swap.  How does the follow schedule sound?

Sign-ups: 02/01 to 02/10

Send by: 02/27

Okay...looks like there's quite a few of us that would like to participate in a wallet swap.  I'll be out of town next week for work, but I was thinking about having the sign-up dates from 01/21 to 01/31.  The mail by date would be 02/15.  Would that work for the folks who have indicated an interest in participating in a wallet swap?
7046  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Holiday Cookie Swap CLOSED!!(sign-up 11/10-12/1 send out by 12/10) on: January 13, 2006 10:45:40 AM
Okay guys...here's the recipe for the mudslide cookies:

Flourless cooking spray for greasing
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons cake flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon powdered instant coffee
1 tablespoon boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
7 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
6 ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
7 large eggs
2 3/4 cups sugar
2 cups chopped walnuts
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray cookie sheets with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl and set aside. Combine instant coffee and boiling water to make a paste. Blend in the vanilla extract.

Melt unsweetened chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat or in the microwave in 15- to 20-second intervals. Gently stir to blend.

In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat together the eggs, sugar and coffee paste mixture on high speed until light in texture and thick, 6 to 8 minutes. Add the chocolate mixture with the machine running on medium speed. On low speed, mix in the dry ingredients until just blended. Mix in the walnuts and chocolate chips until blended. Scrape down the bowl as needed.

Using a 1/4-cup measure as a scoop, fill it with dough, level it, and drop the dough onto cookie sheet, leaving 3 to 4 inches between cookies. In batches, bake until cookies are cracked on top but still slightly moist, about 14 minutes. Allow cookies to cool slightly on the cookie sheet before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes 24 large cookies.

Note:  The only thing I did different was to pour the cookie dough into a brownie pan and bake them for ~ 35 to 45 minutes.

Enjoy!

I love the purse that teamwang crafted...it's gorgeous Smiley  You're a lucky gal, snacker!  I'm sure you did fine.  I think craft anxiety is a good thing.  It shows that we care enough and want our partners to like the stuff we make Grin  I've never tried needle felting but it's definitely on my list of things to do in 2006 Smiley

I've given up on figuring out why the postal system does what it does *sigh*  Recently, I mailed two packages via priority mail, on the same day - one to Chicago and the other to San Diego.  Well, I live in Ohio, and guess which package arrived first (while the other took another 3 days after the the first package arrived...).  Bah!

on the questionnaire there'd have to be a) what type do you want? and b) what type(s) can you make?

Yep, I'd definitely include those questions, along with a question for closure preferences (such as buttons, zippers, magnetic snaps, velcro).  It might just be me, but I've always thought that it'll be neat to sew a zip around the three 'open' sides of the wallet...so that nothing falls out of the wallet.

Goody gumdrops...this swap might be a go!  With all the customizations, we might as well consider naming this the "My Dream Wallet Swap" Cheesy

Oh my...everything looks awesome.  Ladies, you did a fabulous job!  Now I'm feeling a tad apprehensive about sending my stuff out to my partner Sad  Do they make an inhaler for craft-related anxiety attacks?!?

Oooh...someone has received!  Now I feel like such a slacker Tongue  No worries, jungrrl, I'm almost done with your felt goodies...and I'm gonna try to mail them out this weekend Smiley
