6961  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: I <3 felt swap mach II (signups closed. Mailout 1 Jan - 20 Jan) on: January 12, 2006 06:54:11 PM
Oooh...someone has received!  Now I feel like such a slacker Tongue  No worries, jungrrl, I'm almost done with your felt goodies...and I'm gonna try to mail them out this weekend Smiley

I doubt you're the only one who uses one wallet at a time.  Personally, I like variety so I'm always switching things around (and yes, I lose things along the way Tongue).  I hope you get feedback for your first swap pretty soon!  There has been no discussion if this swap will actually happen, but so far, folks have been positive and indicated that it's something they'd like to do Smiley

I would love a Wildberry Skittles/duct tape wallet, but it'd have to be pretty durable.
Although, I really want a fabric one...

So many options, eh?  Yeah, I'm torn between a really cool duct tape wallet or a cool sewn wallet.  This is just a thought but perhaps certain participants who meet a list of criteria (e.g. this will not be their first swap, those who have less than 3 swaps listed as "In Progress", etc. - we can discuss this!!!) can have 2 partners if they would like to receive a duct-tape wallet and a sewn wallet.  I don't know...it could get messy (if people flake) and people might be offended by the criteria  Undecided  Like I said, just a thought.

I think duct tape wallets are cool Smiley  Perhaps someone who sews would like a duct tape wallet, while someone who makes 'killer duct tape wallets' would like a sewn wallet.  The possibilities are endless!!!

I tried typing a reply and computer froze on me *mutter mutter cuss cuss*

Yeah, I think it'd be great to use different wallet designs Smiley  If this swap is a go, I'll make sure to pair up folks based on what they're willing to make and what they'd like to receive.  My goal is to make sure that all participants receive something they'd love to use!

I'm soooo glad that jMi took time to list and update all the tutorials on wallets Grin

This stems from a recent discussion about wallets.  I love hdoglovesyou's tutorial for making a 'super cute wallet'.  For those of you who have missed out on the wallet tutorial, check out all the awesome wallets that have been crafted:

Is there any interest in doing a wallet swap, based on the wallet design in hdoglovesyou's tutorial?  Obviously, slight modifications to the original design would be acceptable.  If you read (or have read) the entire thread, you'll see that there have been all sorts of add-on features (buttons, magnetic snaps, coin purse alteration, etc.) made by various crafters.

For this swap, participants could fill out a questionnaire indicating their favourite features in a wallet and folks would be paired up accordingly.  That way, everyone makes and receives a wallet that they would love and use.

I'll be glad to organize if there's sufficient interest in this swap Smiley

I would totally do that! I do much better work for others than I do for myself.

Same here.  It's sad but I seem to put in more effort when I'm making something for others...mostly because I want it to be special.  Well, that and because I really want them to like it Wink

Yeah!  Wallet swap!

I have been cranking these out with a coin purse alteration (I made 6 for Christmas gifts that matched my Sha Sha Dream Bags!)... and been carrying this around for a while and just now thought to take pics!

For a change - this one is JUST FOR ME!

Buglake, your purse and your wallet are great!  I love how your lining matches the exterior perfectly!

Okay, here's what I'm gonna do.  I'll post the idea for a wallet swap in the "New Swap Theme Ideas" section.  If there's enough interest, I'll be glad to organize it.  If not, I wouldn't mind doing a one-on-one swap with another person!  Off I go.  I'll add a link to that post when I get done!

I've made several of these, but always for swaps. Now I get to make one for myself!

The wallets shown in this thread are all unique and pretty awesome.  So far, I've only made one wallet for a swap.  Here's my question.  I wonder if there's sufficient interest to do a wallet swap?  It's always nice to make things for myself, but I think it is grand when someone else wants to make a wallet for me, based on the same pattern, and I get to make the other person one in return Smiley

Oh. My. God.

Loves2experiment sent me a make-good package of the most awesome mudslide cookies!  They're sooooo good!

And yes, they were still pretty moist, although a bit chilled from being outside all day while I was at work.  I plan to heat one up after dinner... you know, to counteract the two I ate when I opened them up.

Thank you so much!!

I'm glad you enjoyed them, sammyb.  Guittard chocolate chips rule, eh?  I did try my best to pack them well...I hope the post office didn't mangle them with their renown TLC  Roll Eyes

mudslide? as in the boozy beverage? or some other form?

if there's a recipe available, that'd be super duper fantastic.  Cheesy

They're called mudslide cookies because they're rich, gooey chocolate cookies.  They don't contain any alcohol in it though.  If you're still interested in the recipe, I'll be happy to share it Smiley
