lamamarco,  It's awesome, I tell ya!  Here's a not so good experiment I did with the strawberry Nesquik.  I thought to myself, hey, it's syrup.  How bad can it be???  Well, it DOES NOT taste good with iced tea Tongue  I repeat, BAD with iced tea!

MissMeshell, I'm off to check out your pincushions!!  Hopefully, it'll inspire me to use my fabrics Tongue  BTW, the idea of using fabrics like a canvas came from one of the design magazines I was reading a couple of months back.  They did an awesome job mixing and matching various fabrics.  It's art, I tell ya!

Do you know, this swap has totally inspired me to start using up some of my favourite fabrics in my stash.

I was going through them all going, 'no, I simply CAN'T offer this on my list, I love it too much and I want it all' (LOL) but then I got to thinking if I love it so much why have I not used ANY of it in the 4-8 years I have had it! It just seemed so stupid, so I added some (some Tongue) to my list to share and the others I have actually started to use which is very amazing!

Why collect it to have it folded in a cupboard when it could be surrounding you every day as cushions or pin-cushions or oven-mits or whatever else you can think of Cheesy

MissMeshell, that was pretty much what I was thinking about when I went through my fabric stash Smiley  I hoard my fabrics, and I really need to start more sewing projects.  There a couple of fabrics that I absolutely adore, and I think they might very well end up as pictures on my bare walls.  Yep, I'm gonna stretch them over a wood frame.  That way, I'll get to see them all the time!

I also knit, and my yarn stash is getting a little out of control too Tongue Oy.

Haha no.. not yet. Probably better for me too! Not thinking about it too much, maybe I won't want it too much... must stick with fruit smoothines (no cramps at swim!)

You're gonna be mad at me, but in the past I've added that syrup to frozen pineapples and OJ and it made an excellent smoothie!!!  Yeah, I love strawberries!!!

Oo, I guess I gotta add more fabrics... however most of my fabric is vintage.

Haha...I believe Kristen81's stash is up for grabs Smiley  You've got time.  BTW, did you get that Strawberry Nesquik Syrup?  I had it for breakfast this morning, and I remembered our banter about soymilk and syrups Cheesy

NOTE: The following edit has been added to the first post of this swap (after Rule #7).

Edit:  There have been questions about what types of fabrics are acceptable.  I have posted a comment here.  There is really no hard or fast rule for this.  Some people like vintage fabric, and others don't.  It would be easy enough to make the rule that all fabric pieces have to be NEW.  I won't do that.  Instead, I ask that all swap participants be considerate and offer fabric selections that others would want to claim.  Make sure that you're offering a variety (i.e. not ALL vintage pieces).  Another good rule of thumb to follow is this: If you're offering a piece of fabric to "simply get rid of it", it's probably not a good thing!!  Similarly, if you're looking to trade junk for treasure, that's not a good thing either!!  Like I've mentioned before, it's common sense...really.

Whenever I get to pick again (soon I hope!) can I offer up a clean pair of jeans as a FQ choice?

I didn't realise pillowcases were acceptable!  I'll potter through my pillowcase stack tonight some time and update my list.

I'm alright with that, as long as you're able to offer an equivalent of a FQ or 1/2 yard piece from that pillowcase Smiley  Be sure to state clearly that the fabric piece will come from a pillowcase.  Some folks would consider that vintage material, and then there are folks who would not like to receive fabric pieces that are 'repurposed'.  If you plan on offering vintage material, please make sure that the fabric is clean before sending it to your partner!

Same response to the question about 'clean jeans as FQ'.

Having said that, please do not offer vintage pieces as your only fabric options for claim!  When you're posting fabric choices, try to offer a variety of fabric selections (vintage, new, cottons, flannels, polyester blends, silks, etc.).  If the swap idles for a day or so, the last person who posted should add to the list of fabrics they are offering.

I received from raindrops and will post pics later. Thank you raindrops. I'm planning to make a bag from one of the fabrics!

Good heavens.  Yet another crafter that actually uses her fabric stash instead of hoarding it Tongue  I feel like such a slacker!  Wink  Can't wait to see more wonderful fabrics!

Melladh, it already feels like I'm here 24/7 Roll Eyes  I guess I'm a chatterbox, and I like getting to know new folks Cheesy

I don't have a problem doing frequent updates, and I was trying to find a solution that would ease the situation Smiley  Of course, I'm human...and if I fall behind, I hope everyone understands that I'm trying my best!
