6821  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Fabric Swap on: April 14, 2006 08:01:03 AM
What a thing to wake up to this morning!  Last night I make my first 2 claims, go to bed feeling happy and then this morning that good feeling goes away.   Some of you sure know how to make us Canadians feel bad  Cry

It's not our fault the postal system is so slow and, I might add, it's not all the fault of the Canadian side - A few weeks ago I recevied a swap from Kansas (with another group) that took 3 weeks to get here because the US postal system misdirected it and sent it to Toyko, Japan first!!!

Homerof2, I hope I didn't offend you (or any other Canadians) with my comments  Tongue  That was never my intention to do so! Undecided

I'm just whinging about the postal system in general  Roll Eyes  Crud.  Now I've probably offended all postal workersl  Roll Eyes  I should just quit while I'm ahead...

Anyhow, I'd say it's pretty apparent that my gripe about the postal system has NOT stopped me from swapping and sending swap packages to local and international destinations Cheesy

Yes, we do have waaaay too much fun fadeawaydream Smiley  If you ever need to figure out who's stash is up for grabs, a good starting point would be the sent/received post on the first page of this thread.

Yirq, you changed your avatar?!?  Jeeeeze.  Quit playing with fabric and get on with your project  Wink

MissMeshell (and the rest of you), you guys keep beating me out on claims Tongue  Since you've used your last claim (until one of your partners receives from you...), I have one less contender for claiming cool fabrics Wink

So are we gonna post what we make somewhere?

I would love to see a gallery of awesome things we crafted using the fabrics we've received Smiley  Should I set one up?  Has anybody made anything yet?!?

No, I'm serious.  It was one day short of 4 weeks.  I was so stressed about it.  I was almost at the stage that I thought I would have to remake everything that I sent.

That would have done me in Tongue  I have the worst swap anxieties (not with this swap though...) and if I've also got to worry if the package will get there?!?  Oh boy Sad  4 weeks is ridiculous.

It took almost 4 weeks for a package I sent from Australia to Canada to arrive  recently. And I sent it priority air mail.

OMG...you're joking...right?!?

How long did it take to get to her? She's in Canada I'm assuming?

Nope...but in the past 2 months, I've sent quite a few packages to Canada and it takes and average of 2 weeks for my partners to receive Sad

Faints! I even sent my damn package to kristen81 via airmal! That's supposed to take 4-7 days, it hasn;t been 7 yet, but still. Most of my other packages take WAAAAY longer that 7 days!

The lady at the post office told me that airmail will get the package to Canada between 4 to 7 days, but it takes another week for the package to clear through customs.  Eeek.

I have no more claims! And I won't be able to claim for weeks becasue canadian post hates me!

I have no luck with the postal system either *sigh*  But I'm happy to report that A_Patchwork_Orange has received the swap package I sent Cheesy
