March 17, 2006  ---  DEADLINE FOR 'DESIGN A DREAM WALLET' SWAP!

To help me keep track of things, I will be updating our 'sent/received' progress in the first post of this thread (ref. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=80045.0).  A few folks have sent me a pm to tell me that they will be sending out their swap package on Saturday instead of today.  That's fine.  If you need an extra day, please notify your partners and myself so that we know everything is alright.  This morning, island-princess sent me a pm to let me know that she has sent to kookoosp!

Yay!  Soon...we'll get to see everyone's lovely wallet creations!! Grin

I was a t the fabric store a couple weeks ago and was talking to the cutting table lady and said something about my stash (which currently is 2 but rubbermaid tubs FILLED pluss 3 drawers) and she looks down her damn nose at me and says "you must be a beginner!" I wanted to shove her scissors up her nose! I mean come on! fabric superiority complex much??

sorry. had to share my stash story (which 90% of the people i hang out with would assume its a different kinda of "stash" lol)

Eek.  What's her problem?!?  There's no need to be uppity about things!  Heck, if I worked at a fabric store, it wouldn't come as a surprise if I had an amazing fabric stash (what with employee discounts and all!).  Hmm...there's a thought! Wink

Oy...we're in trouble.  Not only do we have serious issues with hoarding fabrics, we also have a fabric pimp who is capitalizing on our addictions *grin*  Meet me in the back alley, PinkMafia!  I might have to get me more fabric to curb my addiction till the swap begins!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking! Smiley you just said it better. :)d

Not sure if I "said it better"...but I'll concede that I tend to be more wordy when it comes to explaining what's on my mind Wink
6749  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: A thread for Personal Swaps? on: March 16, 2006 06:21:42 PM
I hope to do more personal swaps in the future, hence my interest in this discussion Wink

I think it might not be too bad if we were to take turns monitoring/moderating the personal swap gallery.  Perhaps the responsibilities could be rotated on a monthly basis?

It might not even be necessary to keep a running list of the folks who are swapping.  Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I assumed that the point of it is to have a way of recognizing all the wonderful personal swaps that are done.  Just my opinion, but I don't really wish for the gallery to be filled with instances of folks who have flaked on a personal swap!  Let's keep things positive!   Grin

For example (I seem to be full of examples  Roll Eyes), when Jane and Mary agree to do a personal swap, they don't have to inform the person who is monitoring/moderating the gallery.  If they would like to share their crafted items with the rest of the community (and receive feedback for doing a personal swap), one of them (either Jane...or Mary) should post pictures of both items, along with the names of the folks who crafted the items.  When they do that, they'll be added to the running list of folks who will receive positive feedback for doing a personal swap.  To make things easy on the person who is monitoring/moderating the swap gallery for that month, she should only have to assign positive feedback on the last day of that month...or after a new person takes on the job of monitoring/moderating the swap gallery for the next month.
