it looks like it might be possible to achieve that effect by overlaying lace on top of your pieced fabric with spray fusible adhesive?  ....and might be wise to protect your iron from the spray fusible adhesive if you choose to experiment with it Wink

not really an unusual idea, but it sounds like the jar has potential for either altered art...or if you collect vintage sewing supplies, it might be a cool way to showcase those items Smiley
