ah, was out of pocket earlier this week and need to catch up on all the wonderful houses that have been posted!  will do that tomorrow...but first, i need to show off the fabulous inchie house i received from Sarcastra!  Shocked  check out all the hand-drawn details!  the roof shingles are done in subtle shades of grey/blue/lavender...and yep, those are recessed windows (i'm guessing it's a plexiglass/match stick combo?)...too flippin' cool!  oh, and i adore the wee chair on the back of the house Cheesy

flat inchie house...

Sarcastra, thanks for sending me a lovely inchie house  Kiss

cackle, i love what you did with the roof on that inchie house!  it is fabulous and yoopidou found the perfect setting for photographing the wee hosue Cheesy

I almost did that!  Loves2experiment straightened me out...darn printer! Hey--your houses can be the "rich" folks in the neighborhood...ha ha ha...

lol...that's exactly what i thought when i received my adorable house from Ninaprettyballerina! Cheesy  whoa!  a mansion! by comparison, the inchie house i sent can serve as the servants' quarters or shed Grin  here's the house before it was assembled!  check out the details on the interior of the house...yep that's a mandolin.  per Ninaprettyballerina, this mansion is owned by a hippy who loves to paint, play the mandolin and putter away in her garden...sweet!

not sure if it's apparent, but i tried to get a snapshot that showed the interior from the outside.  i love the distressed stucco walls and  if you're wondering what's on one side of the exterior walls, yeppers...it's a wheelbarrow, spade and fork...all done in watercolours Smiley

Ninaprettyballerina, thanks for swapping with me Cheesy

16  Lacroix Sisters (conjoined twins) - Too many pics :P in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by loves2experiment on: August 12, 2013 10:49:52 AM
These modified dolls were sent to my swap partner in the sideshow swap Cheesy
I don't usually do much with dolls, but I really had a fun time with this one!
It was a bit of a challenge (for me anyhow...) to sew the tiny dresses (erm, yeah...the dolls measure a little over 5" in height) but I'm pleased with the end result!

This is the story of Chloe Mae and Verity Mae, collectively known as the Lacroix sisters.  Abandoned at birth, the girls were adopted by a troupe of kind-hearted sideshow oddities, who instantly recognized that the girls needed to be around people who loved them for who they are.  The tattooed lady (Mama Tat to the girls) took on the maternal role and made sure the girls were well cared for.  During their formative years, it was a common sight to see the girls running barefoot around the compound and making frequent stops to visit with their various uncles and aunts (they loved watching everyone get ready for evening shows).  More often than not, the girls would go home with bits of trinkets and sweet treats it was pretty dang impossible not to spoil them!  When they turned eighteen, Mama Tat made good her promise to them.  The girls have always desired to be a true part of the troupe.  So now, they have their own show The Kissing Booth!  Step right up!  Step right up!  For a mere 50 pence, youll be rewarded with kisses from the Lacroix sisters!

The Kissing Booth, constructed by Uncle "Strongman" Hercules:

And having lived with Mama Tat all their life, it's natural for them to want their own tattoos!

19  Wee sparrow (with quite a few pictures)! in Felting: Completed Projects by loves2experiment on: July 22, 2013 09:01:56 AM
Meet Jacques Sparrow...my first attempt at needle felting.
For the One Tiny Bird Thing swap, my swap partner indicated that she loves felted birds, so I figured, why not take a stab (apologies for the bad pun Tongue) at it? Grin

Strangely enough, shaping the fibers into a bird-like shape went a lot quicker than I anticipated.  But I was stumped when it came to the eyes and feet bits.

After doing some research, I decided on onyx beads for its eyes and using this tutorial with slight modifications, Jacques' feet were formed Smiley

Wire armature feet (one on the right is covered with tape):

Painted feet, waiting to be installed...

Here's Jacques in a cage...waiting to fly to his new home Cheesy

And a parting shot of his feet...because they fascinate me Roll Eyes
